- Order parts for jobs promptly, as advised by shop departments.
- Support operations in preparations of quotes and estimates by contacting vendors for budgetary pricing and availability for equipment and materials.
- Maintain a professional attitude when representing the company during phone or personal contact with outside vendors, customers, or service providers, etc.
- Accurately complete material requisitions and purchase orders and enter them into the database.
- Must be able to work in a schedule-driven environment. Timing is a critical function.
- Must be able to manage budgets and avoid delayed costs including shipping.
- Issue purchase orders
- Cost control, change control and scheduling of materials.
- Inventory management – perform cycle counts and reconcile with ERP system.
- Frequently review work in progress (WIP) reports for material needs and delivery times.
- Expediting orders, quotes, backorders, work scope changes, etc.
- Order restock items such as general, consumables, safety, welding, machine tooling, C-stock items and office supplies
- Pick up parts from vendors if needed
- Operates material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, dollies and other related equipment.
- Other duties as assigned such as filing; assisting in the office or with special projects.
