Junior Accountant / Lease Originator, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Accounting

We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our company who will support the accounting department by performing A/R & A/P tasks, day to day accounting duties, month end closing activities and other related duties as needed. A successful candidate will have the ability to follow directions, learn the processes, ask the right questions and be deadline driven.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Originate, terminate, manage fleet leases. Quote payoffs and do necessary tracking
- Communicate with customers and vendors to resolve billing and collection issues
- Handle accounting/finance document flow and filing
- Prepare customer invoices and statements, and reconcile monthly activity
- Record and pay vendor invoices
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist with other accounting entries and controls related to existing and new revenue streams
- Assist with reporting and ad hoc projects as needed
- Handle general office supplies ordering
- Coordinate with building management on any maintenance items
- Perform such other duties as assigned
Other qualities and requirements
- Accounting associates degree or equivalent
- 1 to 3 years related experience involving accounts receivable/payable and general accounting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to function independently when needed
- Organized, accurate and detail oriented
- Experience with Peachtree/Sage 50 is preferred
Pay Rate:
- $25 per hour
- The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable
