Job Description “Junior Accountant”

Summary:
The Accountant records financial transactions and provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accounts receivable and issue invoices
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate posting and reconciliation of the general ledger
  • Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures in compliance with GAAP
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Assist with year-end audit
  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
  • Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments
  • Post and reconcile daily cash receipts and disbursements

Specific tasks may change as the needs of the business progress.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or in related area with accounting certificate
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Familiarity with accounting financial statements with the ability to prepare and analyze financial statements
  • High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize demands and meet deadline

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced QuickBooks experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Vlookup and pivot tables
  • Current or actively working to obtain a CPA license
  • 1+ years of accounting experience.
