Role OverviewWe are seeking a Java Tech Quality Assurance Lead to ensure consistently high standards across our AI data training projects. This role blends hands-on Java expertise with quality assurance, technical evaluation, and contributor support. You will help maintain high-quality Java content, guide trainers and QAs, and contribute to the effectiveness and accuracy of our AI training processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct regular code quality reviews of Java solutions, assessing correctness, clarity, structure, code style, and maintainability. Provide constructive feedback and escalate critical issues when needed.
Perform technical evaluations focused on algorithmic soundness, performance considerations, best practices, and alignment with project guidelines.
Maintain clear communication with trainers and QAs via Discord—sharing updates, clarifying expectations, answering questions, and ensuring a smooth workflow.
Monitor contributor activity and manage activation outreach, helping identify blockers and encouraging re-engagement.
Create and maintain documentation, including coding guidelines, checklists, example solutions, trackers, FAQs, and related resources.
Lead onboarding and training sessions for new trainers and QAs, covering Java quality standards, common issues, and review expectations.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of professional Java experience with strong expertise in code quality, debugging, design approaches, and maintainability.
Previous experience with LLM training, AI data annotation, or QA roles is preferred.
C1-level English proficiency for documentation and async communication.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate different approaches and identify root causes.
High attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work independently.
Compensation
Hourly rates are personalized based on your experience level, educational background, location, and industry expertise. You’ll see your specific rate in your contract offer before signing. Rates for technical roles can vary significantly based on these factors and can be re-evaluated for different projects based on your performance and experience.
