Position Summary:  

MacroHealth is seeking an IT Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who can effectively manage IT operations while also performing higher-level IT System Administration tasks. Reporting to the Director, IT & Security, the IT Manager will oversee critical IT functions, including Identity and Access management to most business software, IT onboarding/offboarding of staff, IT budget/actual finance management, vendor/contract management, helpdesk supervision, IT asset management, and security & compliance management. This role will manage two direct reports.


Key Relationships: IT, G&A, Product and Engineering, Activations, Customer Experience, Customer Support  


Key Accountabilities: 

People & Team Management: 

  • Supervise and support IT staff of two Senior System Administrators, including performance reviews, coaching, and career development.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment that encourages continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Manage workload distribution and task prioritization to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Address and resolve team-related challenges and conflicts in a professional manner as needed. 

Technical & Administrative Leadership: 

  • Administration of corporate software and cloud-based environments, primarily within Microsoft 365. 
  • Work with the Product, Engineering & Activations Teams on our MIX Platform, and foundational infrastructure like MS Azure IaaS.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, SOC2, and other relevant security frameworks.
  • Perform regular security audits, system monitoring, and escalation of security issues.
  • Work with the Business Continuity and Disaster recovery (BCDR) team on annual tests.
  • Implement and maintain patch management and vulnerability assessments for all corporate computers (Windows and Mac). 

End-User & Helpdesk Support: 

  • Supervise and provide additional hands-on technical support for the IT Helpdesk function that provide support to all employees.
  • Oversee technical onboarding/offboarding of employees and contractors.
  • Manage identity and access control policies.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot security solutions like firewalls, IPS/IDS, and endpoint protection. 

IT Budget & Vendor Management: 

  • Assist in developing and managing the IT budget and actual spend tracking. 
  • Audit and optimize software license usage.
  • Maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers. 

IT Policy, Compliance & Security Management: 

  • Develop, document, and enforce IT policies and procedures. 
  • Ensure security controls align with industry standards (NIST, ISO27001, HITRUST, SOC2).
  • Lead IT projects and ensure timely delivery of infrastructure and security initiatives. 


Required Education and Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience and certifications).
  • 1+ year of people management experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on IT Systems Administration experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure Cloud Environments including IAM.  
  • Experience working in a regulated industry (healthcare preferred).
  • Experience managing Helpdesk teams and systems (Jira Service Management preferred).
  • Expertise in IT security frameworks (HIPAA, SOC2, NIST, ISO27001, HITRUST) and best practices.
  • Experience managing cloud IaaS environments (Microsoft Azure(preferred), AWS, or GCP).
  • Experience managing vendors, budgets and procurement.
  • Experience managing Windows and/or Linux servers.
  • Experience supporting end users in Mac and Windows environments. 


Preferred Skills:  

  • IT certifications (Microsoft 365, Azure, or relevant security certifications) are a plus.
  • Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Linux Shells) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with GenAI tools (ChatGPT, MS Copilot, etc.) is an asset.


Location: Fully remote within the US 

Travel: Approximately 4-6 times a year in the US and Canada
