Who You Are

You are an experienced IT professional who thrives on building secure, scalable, and user-friendly systems. You understand that IT is not just about devices and policies—it’s about enabling employees to do their best work while safeguarding data and operations. You are hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive in bringing best practices to life. You’re energized by the opportunity to design processes, solve problems, and own initiatives end to end in a distributed, high-growth environment.

The Environment You’ll Step Into

We’ve built a solid foundation of IT tools and processes, but there’s with opportunities to expand on this and scale alongside the business.

You’ll inherit:

  • Established IT/security infrastructure (MDM, EDR, password management, etc.)

  • A fleet of devices spanning MacOS + Windows

  • Automation middleware to streamline workflows

  • A help desk function that’s functional but still scrappy and evolving

  • Annual security compliance trainings

Your role will be to optimize and build on this groundwork.

What You'll Do

As an IT Manager at Go Nimbly, you will own our IT environment, strengthen our security posture, and deliver technology solutions that support our rapidly growing, distributed workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Systems & Security

    • Maintain and enforce IT/security policies (1Password, MFA, employee training).

    • Ensure alignment with both internal and customer security requirements.

    • Plan and implement projects such as VPN or secure remote access solutions.

  • Device & Infrastructure Management

    • Oversee the full lifecycle of laptops and devices, including purchase, deployment, tracking, and secure disposal. (FYI - we leverage a vendor for the day-to-day administration.)

    • Maintain and evolve MDM infrastructure, ensuring compliance, device security, and ease of management.

    • Manage user access, device compliance, and endpoint security across systems.

  • Ops Support

    • Own day-to-day technical support in a tiered IT model, including escalations, software provisioning, and hardware troubleshooting.

    • Document recurring solutions and build a knowledge base for Tier 1 handoff.

    • Report and take action on IT health metrics—such as device compliance and ticket resolution time.

    • Partner with the People team to optimize onboarding, offboarding, and lifecycle IT workflows.

  • Process Improvement

    • Lead the design and execution of IT systems and processes focused on security, scalability, and employee experience.

    • Collaborate across teams to review workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions that enable rapid growth.

    • Support automation initiatives, including building features for our primary Slack Agent and developing self-service tools.

  • Strategic Leadership

    • Partner with the Director of Operations to design and execute a 6-12 month IT roadmap aligned with company growth and compliance needs.

    • Lead compliance and risk efforts, including SOC2 readiness, internal audits, incident response planning, and IT policy development.

    • Provide guidance on GDPR and scalable IT infrastructure to support international expansion. (We have team members in several countries!)

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or security roles, including demonstrated growth into roles with greater responsibility and leadership.

  • Strong knowledge of endpoint security (SentinelOne or similar), MDM platforms, and SaaS application management across MacOS and Windows .

  • Proven ability to manage device lifecycles, user access, and compliance in a distributed environment.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a habit of documenting and systematizing solutions.

  • Familiarity with automation, scripting (Python/JS), and system integrations is a huge plus.

  • Excellent communication skills, able to work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

  • Self-motivated and capable of balancing day-to-day support with strategic project ownership.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
