The IT Lead will manage all internal IT operations, provide hands-on support, oversee systems, and ensure secure infrastructure for studio needs.
Wildlight Entertainment is a brand-new, fully-funded entertainment studio comprised of talented creators from some of the biggest IPs in gaming, including Apex Legends, Call of Duty, and Titanfall. We are driven by our deep passion for making AAA games that leave a lasting impact on the world, and we match that drive with a commitment to quality in every aspect of our work. We foster a positive, supportive work environment built on mutual trust and open communication, where everyone has a voice and is treated with respect. With a bias for action and a belief in each other, we’re betting on ourselves to deliver truly unforgettable gaming experiences.
We're a remote-first company, but due to the nature of this role, regular in-office presence is required. We are only considering people who currently live in the Los Angeles area and can commute to Woodland Hills.
We are looking for an IT Lead who will serve as the primary technical resource for all internal IT operations, combining the responsibilities of an individual contributor (hands-on support, troubleshooting, and onboarding) with leadership in infrastructure, system administration, and network/security best practices. This person is the first line of defense for our local and remote users for all things help desk and onboarding. The role is ideal for an organized, proactive person who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and is excited to support the tools that enable the development team to make great games.
Responsibilities
- Set up, configure, and troubleshoot hardware (workstations, peripherals, AV setups) as needed, for our local and remote teammates, ensuring the least amount of downtime possible for developers.
- Assess vendors and service contracts with studio leadership to evaluate and procure hardware/software.
- Handle all asset management and software licenses, ensuring an accurate cost of hardware & software.
- Maintain and improve server environments (file servers, build servers, version control).
- Administer directory services, email, endpoint management, and backup solutions.
- Oversee the setup and maintenance of physical and virtual infrastructure.
- Manage office network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, and VPNs.
- Monitor systems for performance, vulnerabilities, and potential outages.
- Support game development tools such as Perforce, Jira, Confluence and more.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support continuous integration and build systems.
- Assist with various in-office tasks as necessary.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in IT, with at least 1–2 years in a lead or senior-level capacity.
- Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux administration.
- Hands-on experience with networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi, VPNs).
- Proven experience with security tools, endpoint management, and backup systems.
- Experience with MDM tools (e.g., Jamf, Intune) and cloud identity providers (Google, Okta, Azure AD).
- Familiarity with AV setups and support for hybrid/remote work environments.
- Expertise with Perforce, Atlassian tools (Jira/Confluence), and developer toolchains.
- Regular on-site attendance in the Woodland Hills office.
- May require some travel to other company offices, ~10%.
Nice to Haves
- Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
- Experience in a game development studio or creative technology environment.
Compensation: We believe that a team that builds together wins together. Because of that, our compensation packages consist of competitive industry standard base salaries and an annual bonus. For this specific role, the base salary range is $125,000 to $155,000 (USD) with the final salary offered dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and internal equity.
Benefits: We are committed to creating a positive and inclusive work environment with a no-crunch culture and an unlimited PTO policy so people can take the time when they need and want it! Additionally, we offer comprehensive healthcare, dental & vision coverage for you and your family and paid parental leave.
