Cadence Design Systems are seeking a talented, self-motivated and energetic Intern to join our Techstop Support Team @ our Cadence San Jose Campus. The Cadence Techstop support team strives to provide Cadence employees with the best support and service while serving over 2500 onsite staff.  The successful candidate will be working with a team of four engineers in a Tech-Stop providing support to the Corporate and NA Field employees. 

This successful intern will be joining a dynamic IT organization working with & actively collaborating with cross functional groups, source experience participating in global IT projects, while building knowledge and experience in processes and procedures that support Cadence’s operations.

The successful candidate should be interested in learning and supporting cutting-edge technologies to deliver Best in Class services to our employees. Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.

The intern will be based in San Jose & report directly to global IT Group Director Brendan Pollard.

What you will learn from us

  • Learn how to assist with desktop support needs and device asset management.
  • Understand how to build, configure and troubleshoot PCs.
  • Learning to support cutting edge technologies to deliver the Best-in-Class services to our employees.
  • Learn how to provide great customer service to Cadence local or remote desktop users.
  • Learn to collaborate and interact with direct line managers, Local IT Team and International Teams.
  • Knowledge and experience in processes and procedures

What Technical Skills, Experience and Qualification do you need?

  • Currently studying an IT course or attending a similar training program.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Passionate about technology and willingness to learn Microsoft products: (Windows 10, Office 365, Anti-Virus SW, Desktop Imaging)
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Good interpersonal and customer relationship skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills. Good oral and written English communication skills.
  • Any previous experience in a supporting IT role desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 12 months
