Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Intern to join our Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehousing team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in enterprise data infrastructure, reporting tools, and analytics that drive decision-making across the organization. You will work closely with experienced BI developers, data engineers, and analysts to support the design, development, and optimization of data solutions.

This role is hybrid, based on-site at our Long Beach, CA office and remote.

Internship Duration:  Summer 2025 | 10-12 weeks

What you’ll do: 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in building and maintaining BI reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.

  • Support the development and enhancement of data warehouse solutions on platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or SQL Server.

  • Participate in ETL/ELT workflows, assisting with data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.

  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and ensure data quality and consistency.

  • Conduct data profiling, validation, and cleansing to ensure the integrity of reporting outputs.

  • Document processes, workflows, and data dictionaries to support knowledge sharing.

  • Learn and apply SQL queries and scripting to retrieve and manipulate data for reporting purposes.

  • Provide ad-hoc support to BI and analytics teams as needed.

What you need to know: 

Experience/Skills/Education: 

Required: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.

  • Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts, database systems, and data modeling.

  • Familiarity with SQL and data querying techniques.

  • Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms (academic or personal projects count!).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team-oriented environment.

  • Eagerness to learn and take initiative on challenging assignments.

Desired:

  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

  • Understanding of ETL tools like Alteryx, Talend, dbt, or Informatica.

  • Familiarity with programming/scripting languages such as Python or R.

  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality concepts.

Base Hourly Range: $20/hourly

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of Hydrafacial's total rewards package for our employees.
