About the Position:
AGBO is seeking an IT Director to lead and evolve our Information Technology department. This individual will oversee IT operations, infrastructure, security, and support, ensuring AGBO’s teams are empowered with reliable systems and scalable technology solutions. With a strong focus on customer service, this role will foster a high-performing IT culture and will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, from Development to VFX/Animation to Games, building a forward-looking IT strategy that supports both day-to-day creative operations and long-term company growth.

This is a leadership role for a seasoned IT professional with expertise in professional entertainment environments, ideally with exposure to the workflows and tools of studios, VFX/animation pipelines, gaming, and creative emerging technology.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Los Angeles, CA.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute AGBO’s IT roadmap aligned with studio goals.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing IT team that embodies a culture of service and innovation. 
  • Partner with creative, production, and executive teams to anticipate needs and design scalable, future ready solutions.
  • Oversee company-wide systems, network infrastructure, hardware, and software management.
  • Ensure seamless day-to-day IT operations across hybrid/remote and on-site environments across AGBO’s multiple worksites enabling employees to work effectively anywhere.
  • Standardize and document IT processes, policies, and best practices to drive operational consistency.
  • Establish IT as a customer centric partner, providing clear communication, and proactive support. 
  • Own cybersecurity strategy and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage data protection policies, backup systems, and disaster recovery planning to maintain business continuity.
  • Provide IT solutions tailored to VFX, animation, gaming, and content production environments.
  • Partner with creative technology teams to support emerging workflows (virtual production, cloud-based collaboration, render pipelines, etc.).
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and IT budgets.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, ensuring cost-effectiveness, scalability and enhancing the creative process.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Proven experience in entertainment, VFX/animation, games, or creative technology environments.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, cloud services, and endpoint management.
  • Familiarity with production workflows, digital asset management, and security standards in media.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solutions oriented and understands how to balance timeliness with the need for long term maintainable solutions
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution.
  • Experience supporting hybrid and global workforces.
  • Passion for storytelling and creativity in gaming and filmed entertainment, and the evolving intersection of creativity, entertainment and technology.

The typical base salary for this position ranges from $170,000- $245,000 annually. Actual offers will be determined based on experience.
