Role Summary
The IT Device Integration / Mindray Project Manager will lead various enterprise device integration initiatives, with a focus on planning and executing the phased deployment of Mindray devices across hospitals, sites, and clinical units. This role will manage the full project lifecycle, including discovery, infrastructure readiness, interface and workflow coordination, testing, deployment, go-live, and stabilization.

One initial major project assignment will be leading the integration of approximately 4,500 new BD infusion pumps with Epic across 12 sites. The core integration effort is currently projected to run approximately 12-18 months and will be part of a broader multi-year infusion pump modernization and deployment program. The Project Manager will coordinate site sequencing, device and infrastructure readiness, Epic integration, clinical workflow validation, testing, cutover, operational readiness, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization across the health system.

In addition to project execution, this role will partner with IT and operational leaders to develop, maintain, and execute on the Mindray deployment roadmap. This includes establishing a consistent approach for prioritizing units and sites, evaluating operational and technical readiness, coordinating capital requests with Operations, sequencing vendor and infrastructure dependencies, helping establish governance and decision-making processes for the broader device integration program, and executing Mindray implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise device integration projects involving Mindray and other clinical device and integration vendors from planning through implementation and stabilization.
  • Build and maintain integrated project plans, budgets, timelines, resource needs, dependencies, and deliverables across clinical, application, infrastructure, and vendor workstreams.
  • Facilitate strategic planning for the Mindray deployment roadmap, including the prioritization and sequencing of clinical units and sites based on operational need, technical readiness, cost, risk, and dependencies.
  • Partner with Operations, Nursing, Clinical Engineering/Biomed, and IT leaders to develop capital requests, cost estimates, implementation assumptions, and supporting business cases.
  • Help establish and maintain governance for device integration initiatives, including decision rights, standards, intake and prioritization processes, escalation paths, and executive reporting.
  • Manage complex multi-vendor project plans with competing priorities and dependencies, ensuring clear ownership, sequencing, and accountability across teams.
  • Coordinate technical readiness activities involving interfaces, VLANs, wired and wireless connectivity, network capacity, device configuration, integration platforms, and related infrastructure dependencies.
  • Lead requirements definition, workflow validation, integration design coordination, testing, cutover planning, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization activities.
  • Scope project work and manage vendor relationships, statements of work, contracts, deliverables, and performance for IT system and medical device integrations.
  • Provide clear and consistent project updates to stakeholders at all levels, including weekly status reporting and maintenance of risks, actions, issues, decisions, and dependencies.
  • Manage multiple priorities concurrently, proactively identify and resolve project issues, and escalate decisions or barriers when needed.
  • Develop and support change management and operational readiness activities associated with new devices, workflows, integrations, and deployment standards.

Requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Will also consider a background in BSN/RN, PharmD, MD, or a similar clinical education pathway combined with comparable IT project management experience and an advanced degree such as an MHA or MBA.
  • PMP certification or equivalent is desired.
  • Demonstrated experience leading device integration projects across an enterprise environment involving multiple equipment manufacturers and integration vendors.
  • Familiarity with clinical device and integration solutions such as Capsule, Mindray, GE, Welch Allyn, Draeger, or similar technologies is strongly preferred. Experience with Capsule HASC is a plus but not required.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams across IT, Nursing, Clinical Engineering/Biomed, Operations, vendors, and other clinical or business stakeholders.
  • High-level understanding of the IT infrastructure required to support medical device integration, including VLANs, wired and wireless connectivity, network readiness, interface and server dependencies, and coordination with Clinical Engineering/Biomed.
  • Experience supporting deployment roadmaps, prioritization frameworks, capital planning, or governance models within a healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Epic (EMR) and clinical workflows is preferred but not required.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
