Who You’ll Work With
The Information Technology organization is the technological foundation of our business and works in collaboration with our partners from across the company. The team drives technology and digital transformation, partners with business leaders to design and execute new strategies through IT and operations services and ensures the necessary IT risk management and security measures are in place and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and principles.
About The Role
The primary purpose of the job is to provide end-to-end Business Analysis and Project Management services in support of the development of the Actuarial Data Repository (ADR) managed by the Actuarial Information Technology group. The analyst will work closely with actuarial teams for annuity valuation, experience studies, and reinsurance.
The Actuarial IT team needs a strong Business Analyst resource to thoroughly understand, analyze, and document stakeholder’s processes and information needs following best practices to help prepare Business Requirement Documentation by working closely with Actuarial Information Technology stakeholders and actuarial business users. The analyst will then create technical specs from the business requirements for the development team and will work with the development team to ensure successful implementation. The project supports the actuarial department’s growing data needs and automation of data intake. Responsibilities will include duties across all phases of the software development lifecycle, including business analysis, project management, documentation, and overseeing and participating in quality assurance testing.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct IT support for the Actuarial Business Units
- Coordinate the monthly data provisioning processes with the business and support teams
- Understand the monthly manual tasks/activities for the Actuarial processes
- Perform data analysis on the policy admin systems, databases, excel sheets, and other sources of data required for the various processes
- Conduct meetings/interviews with business users and SME`s to gather high level business requirements
- Analyze business workflows and create business process flow diagrams
- Work with the technical team to find the possibilities for automating the business processes
- Create future state process diagram and story boards and present to the business and propose ideas of automation in detail
- Outline the dataflow in, out and through all these sub systems and the data exports to the valuation systems
- Conduct meetings to plan phases of the project, prioritize activities, and build timelines
- Prepare contingency plans, resource assignments, checkpoints and milestones
- Create detailed project plans, manage and track by working closely with business users, stakeholders, developers, and testers.
- Build credibility, establish rapport, and maintain communication with stakeholders
- Create and maintain project documents - Business Requirement document, Functional Requirement Document, Data mapping sheets, Data Definition documents
- Maintain continuous alignment of program scope with strategic business objectives, and make recommendations to modify the program to enhance effectiveness toward the business result or strategic intent
- Work on ad-hoc data requests necessary for controls, regulatory requests, filings, 10K reporting, etc.
- Trouble-shoot issues with data processes and/or data
- Create audit checklists based on SOX rules and regulations
- Present periodic dashboard reports on the current program, future opportunities and issues
- Perform quality assurance and coordinate with other testers during development, unit and QA testing to assure consistency with business requirements
- Create tasks (development, QA, ad-hoc, etc.) and assign them to respective teams/resources
- Work with business users to prepare and execute test cases
- Work to bridge gap between the actuarial business users and the policy admin system subject matter experts
- Coordinate with the developers (on and offshore) on implementation and unit testing
- Participate in internal and external quality audit sessions
Skills and Qualifications
- 3+ years of IT experience, preferably within the financial services sector
- Actuarial support experience highly preferred
- Annuity knowledge preferred
- Familiarity with all phases of the software development life cycle
- Experience documenting requirements for large and complex data processing and analysis projects
- Strong attention to detail in both work performed and presentation of work products
- Experience communicating and interacting with all levels of management in the process of gathering requirements
- Experience working in controlled development, testing and production environments
- Experience with issue tracking/project planning applications such as JIRA.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
- Solid work ethic, self-driven with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Experience with coding or writing complex SQL queries preferred
- Experience with AXIS, AON and/or other valuation systems a plus
- Experience with Project Management/Agile/Scrum a plus
- Experience in Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, PL/SQL, Snowflake or ETL processing is a plus
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $128,000 at the commencement of employment for the Woodland Hills, CA area. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.
In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Work Location
This position is based in Corebridge Financial’s Woodland Hills, CA or Houston, TX office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
