Why This Role is Exciting
The IT Applications Administrator is a hands-on role focused on the design, implementation, governance, administration, and maintenance of the critical IT applications used across the company. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and optimal utilization of various software solutions, including productivity suites, collaboration tools, and a growing portfolio of AI solutions. Crucially, you'll also be a key player in cost management and license optimization, driving FinOps principles to foster financial accountability for cloud and application spend. Reporting to IT leadership and working cross-functionally with stakeholders across the business, this role will play a key part in supporting AuditBoard's strategic business objectives through effective application administration & management.
The IT Applications Administrator will apply their skills, experience, drive, and passion to ensure AuditBoard's IT applications align with corporate objectives. This role requires close partnership with IT peers in Architecture & Engineering, Solutions & Administration, and InfoSec. You'll also collaborate closely with the IT Support team to efficiently augment application support across the entire IT team. Possessing a hands-on and autonomous skillset, balanced with a customer-facing and collaborative mindset, the administrator will be adept at both solution development and implementation of tasks assigned by other team members. Essential qualities include strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, agility, adaptability, effective change management, a strong client service orientation, and a commitment to operational excellence.
In this role, you will contribute by:
Optimizing and maintaining critical IT applications through teamwork: Lead the administration, configuration, and maintenance of platforms such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 product suite, Lucidchart, Atlassian, and Slack, while collaborating with fellow IT administrators and specialists and providing expert guidance to the IT Support team on application-specific issues.
Guiding the integration and governance of AI solutions: Drive the secure design, implementation, and ongoing management of AI tools like Gemini, NotebookLM, Slack AI, and OpenAI, working closely with IT Architecture, Engineering, and Solutions.
Minimizing application downtime and maximizing user productivity through collaborative support: Provide proactive technical support and swift troubleshooting for application issues, leveraging the expertise of the IT team and assisting the IT Support team with advanced application escalations.
Ensuring robust application security and streamlined access: Effectively manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls, coordinating with InfoSec and the Endpoint Management administrator.
Building a comprehensive and collaborative knowledge base for applications: Create and update documentation for configurations, processes, and best practices, fostering shared understanding within IT and empowering the IT Support team with effective troubleshooting resources.
Fostering strong cross-functional and inter-IT partnerships: Collaborate with business stakeholders and various IT teams to identify needs and deliver impactful application solutions.
Supporting the strategic evolution of AuditBoard's application ecosystem: Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new IT applications and features, contributing to the broader IT roadmap.
Enhancing operational efficiency and demonstrating tangible value, including cost management and license optimization: Utilize KPIs to drive and assess the value of IT applications, contributing to overall IT operational excellence and ensuring financial accountability for cloud and application spend.
Ensuring technological relevance and driving innovation: Stay informed about business application trends and emerging technologies, particularly in artificial intelligence, and bring these insights to the IT team.
Attributes for a Successful Candidate:
3+ years experience in IT, with 2+ years experience in IT application administration, preferably at a fast-growing SaaS/technology company.
Proven expertise in administering core collaboration and productivity suites, including Google Workspace, Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence), and other enterprise SaaS solutions.
Strong understanding of Google AI technologies (e.g., Gemini, NotebookLM) with familiarity in designing, implementing, and governing emerging AI solutions (e.g., Slack AI, OpenAI).
Demonstrated ability to administer a diverse portfolio of SaaS-based solutions and cloud architectures supporting a remote/hybrid workforce, with a focus on cost management and license optimization (FinOps).
Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills, thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with an ability to navigate ambiguity effectively.
A self-driven and autonomous individual with a highly collaborative, customer-facing mindset, who can manage change and effectively communicate across the organization and work seamlessly with the IT Support team.
A strong ability to quickly learn and adapt to new applications, technologies, and processes, demonstrating agility and adaptability.
