The Games Social Engineering team is responsible for building full-stack experiences across multiple platforms which enable players to play Netflix games together in new and delightful ways. We focus on creating innovative social features that connect players, facilitate meaningful interactions, and foster gaming communities within the Netflix ecosystem. From real-time multiplayer experiences to social discovery features, we're building the foundational systems and user experiences that make Netflix Games a truly social platform. 

We are looking for an iOS engineer to innovate and build the next generation of games platform UI. This is a high-visibility role that enables delivering delightful experiences to Netflix subscribers across multiple canvases. Our responsibilities include working on large-scale A/B tests of features - ranging from highly visible product experiences to core infrastructure that enables existing and future innovations. We care deeply about UI performance, quality, and accessibility of Netflix Games experiences. To bring new kinds of engaging and interactive experiences to life, we partner closely with many cross-functional teams, including product management, experience design, and creative production.

This L4 role maps to a mid-to-senior IC scope.

Who You Are
  • An iOS developer who is passionate about building intuitive and seamless user experiences.

  • Understanding of iOS frameworks and eager to learn new paradigms and practices.

  • Proficient in Swift or Objective-C, and able to navigate different languages and technology stacks (e.g., Node.js, GraphQL).

  • Committed to quality and performance about the quality & performance of the product shipped.

What You Will Do
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering partners to scope project roadmaps to build delightful user experiences.

  • Build maintainable, performant iOS client code with effective documentation that can be leveraged by iOS developers on other teams.

  • Contribute to the consistency and simplicity of client code to increase experimentation throughput and maintain high product quality.

  • Build experimentation-driven product features, core UI infrastructure & systems, and implement design patterns to integrate with platform frameworks (UIKit, SwiftUI, Core Animation, Foundation APIs, etc.)

  • Write code for testability and create automated tests with XCTest/XCUITest to help uphold product quality on a fast-moving codebase.

  • Keep a pulse on modern iOS technologies and software engineering practices, and help modernize the code base to accelerate innovation velocity while upholding high product quality.

  • Build accessible experiences and follow inclusive engineering practices (e.g., assistive tech testing, semantic UI, color contrast, VoiceOver).

The overall market range for roles in this area of Netflix is typically $300,000 - $700,000.
