The Fund Finance Group provides financing to private equity funds and other asset managers through structured credit facilities across the fund lifecycle including subscription facilities, hybrid and NAV financings. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and expanding existing relationships;
- Sourcing of new transactions across the FFG product suite;
- Creating and delivering of marketing pitchbooks;
- Partnering with FFG's Fund Solutions platform for NAV and Structured Product transactions as well as Syndications for transaction distribution;
- Structuring and negotiating of term sheets;
- Working with clients to understand financing needs and provide tailored solutions;
- Driving the legal documentation process for new originations as well as the oversight for amendments (extensions, upsizes etc.);
- Oversight of the credit underwriting and approval process;
- Leading due diligence meetings and various client interactions related to new and existing transactions;
- Management/Mentoring of deal teams in all aspects of deal origination and ongoing portfolio management;
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Investment Banking experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 10+ years of front office or credit experience at a major firm with a focus in finance
- Direct client interaction experience, including experience leading relevant transaction elements and interacting with senior decision makers
- Deal origination & credit underwriting experience acting in a senior / lead capacity
- Experience reading, negotiating, and/or interpreting legal documents
- Experience in structured finance or investment banking is preferred
- Leadership experience and/or experience training others in a relevant professional capacity
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Analytical thinker. Able to make decisions and recommendations that are well-reasoned
- High level of personal motivation. Does more than what is asked for and anticipates questions/issues
- Ability to manage a high-volume workload while maintaining excellence and consistency of work. Ability to quickly change focus and stay organized is a must
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with originating and monitoring subscription facilities, asset backed finance, securitization, or other structured products
- Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Familiarity with private equity funds
- Very comfortable and efficient in Excel. Experience writing formulas; organizing, analyzing, and formatting data; and recognizing and auditing errors
- Able to review and interpret financial statements
- Experience monitoring covenants and client reporting
- Formal credit training program experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Math, Economics or Engineering (or MBA)
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Willingness to work 55-70+ hours per week, depending on workload.
- Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
- Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
- Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
- This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire.
