SUMMARY OF INTERNSHIP
WELL’s Security and Compliance team is seeking a summer intern. You will work under the direction of our Security and Privacy Analyst. This internship is paid and will be fully remote. You will gain invaluable hands-on experience working on a combination of IT security measures, risk mitigation practices, and data governance frameworks at a fast-paced startup. This is an exciting opportunity if you are passionate about security and privacy, and want to learn about data protection practices and regulations.
PROJECT SCOPE
- IT Security Projects
- Perform analysis of company wide data loss prevention risk
- Assist with initiative to centralize company tools authentication (Single Sign On / Security Assertion Markup Language)
- Risk Mitigation Projects
- Assist in facilitation of external vulnerability testing
- Help enhance Incident Response program
- Security Governance/Certifications
- Assist with ISO Security Frameworks mapping, analysis, and implementation
REQUIREMENTS
- Current undergraduate student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems (or similar field of study)
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to collaborate with members of various teams
- Good problem analysis, problem-solving, and judgment skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of security and privacy concepts
BONUS
- Experience in one or more of the following: Information technology security programs, audits, assessments, risk, or remediation management
- Experience with data privacy/protection
- Experience with security frameworks (eg. SOC 2, HITRUST, ISO 27001, HIPAA, NIST 800-53, PCI DSS)
- Healthcare experience
- Experience creating internal documentation
INTERNSHIP DETAILS
- All internships are paid
- All internships are virtual
- Internships will be full-time (40 hours per week)
- All internships will be 10-12 weeks
- All interns must currently reside in the United States
- We are happy to work with an intern and their school on qualifying internships for course credit (pending the school’s guidelines)
- All interns will be provided with a MacBook Pro
