Interns provide critical administrative support to account teams, assisting in the day-to-day administration of marketing initiatives on behalf of the agency and its clients. Interns work closely with their manager and other team leads, assisting with scheduling and planning events, researching trends, developing social media copy, and much more.

 

The intern position is a supporting role, but encourages growth and creativity on a daily basis and holds great potential for advancement within the agency. To be a successful intern, you must have a foundation in digital and social media marketing principles and the confidence to communicate your ideas clearly and professionally. Ultimately, an outstanding intern should be able to start to build relationships with their team members and vendors while supporting the team in execution of the strategic marketing plan for the client(s) they are assigned to support.

 

This will be a hybrid role that requires the employee to be based in the Chicago, IL metropolitan area.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on clients, prospects, and the medtech/biotech industry to build knowledge base and offer insights to teams; develop and maintain working-level understanding of clients and industry
  • Monitor social media platforms to identify relevant conversations, trends and themes; provide reports that capture findings and elevate timely commentary to the marketing team
  • Assist in creating and organizing monthly content calendars for agency and/or client social media programs
  • Collaborate with creative professionals to develop social media content
  • Schedule and monitor social media content using social media publishing software and/or native platforms
  • Leverage agency dashboards to track social and digital marketing program performance, identify trends, and suggest opportunities for optimization
  • Participate in quality control process to ensure accuracy of the execution of digital and social media marketing programs
  • Prepare professional communications (e.g. agency updates on digital platform or policy changes, under direction of manager)
  • Assist in development and execution of agency email marketing initiatives)
  • Communicate with the team; listen, participate and actively contribute to meetings and projects
  • Assist H+C integrated marketing communications team with other projects as assigned

Skills/Experience

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s program in digital marketing, business administration or related field
  • Demonstrated curiosity and eagerness to learn
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to organize one’s projects and balance multiple priority tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, collegial work environment
  • Interest in medtech and biotech innovation
