The Opportunity

Simpplr is a market leader in the intranet and employee experience space with a strong focus in developing thought leadership and champions in the internal communications community.

We are looking for a seasoned internal communications expert with extensive experience in the UK and larger EMEA region.  In this unique position you will be our EMEA internal communications thought leader that can speak in both virtual and physical events as well as in 1 on 1 customer and prospect sales meetings.  You are a leader and active in the EMEA internal communications community and can both speak and write about the benefits of using a modern intranet. As you will be the sole marketing representative in the EMEA region, the ability to manage local events and translations is a huge plus. This is a contract position where hours will vary but is expected to range between 20 and 40 hours a week with the potential path to become a permanent position.

Your Job ResponsibilitiesWhat you will be doing:

  • Develop content and present on webinars: Combine your expert knowledge with internal communications with what you will learn about Simpplr capabilities to develop and present on thought leadership and practical best practices content via webinars and online events.  Presentations can be stand alone, with Simpplr customers or other Simpplr experts
  • Present in in-person events: Use the same or different content from the above and present in a handful of annual London third-part and Simpplr hosted events.  You may also be called upon to moderate panel and roundtable discussions.
  • Manage social media: Write and post on Simpplr social media channels with a focus on Linked
  • Write blogs and other written forms of content: Write internal communications thought leadership content that will be featured on the Simpplr blog.  Other forms of content can include email, ebooks and social media posts.
  • Translate: Act as our British language expert and translate American to British English for a variety of marketing materials including datasheets, ads, sales presentations and more.
  • Manage field marketing: May occasionally be called upon to act as our local marketing representative and manage logistics (including banners, datasheets, giveaways) for local events.  Prior experience is a plus but will train if needed.

Your SkillsetWhat makes you a great fit for the team:

  • Experience: 8+ years in internal communications in the EMEA region in the b2b industry with experience using the intranet as one of your tools.
  • Superior Presentation Skills: The role includes extensive public speaking and presentation and you are a master of presentation.
  • Writing: It’s a communications job…you should be a great writer.
  • Social media: Savvy with social media and with many examples of linkedin posts for executives or companies
  • Extrovert and humble: This role involves lots of interaction with prospects and customers so you should love interacting with people.
  • Flexible: We are not a huge company so we need you to wear multiple hats that may include non-glamorous tasks such as mailing swag to a  venue, or booth set-up. Someone who's willing to pitch in and do what is needed would be a great fit.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
