As an ​Events and Marketing Intern​ at Relief Compass, you will play a crucial role in supporting the planning and execution of events and marketing initiatives aimed at raising awareness, engaging supporters, and mobilizing resources for our humanitarian efforts. You will work closely with our Strategy Teams and Marketing and Communications teams to coordinate events, create marketing materials, and enhance our online presence through social media and digital channels. 

Responsibilities:

  • Event Planning and Coordination: 
  • Assist in the planning and execution of Marketing events, conferences, and any engagement activities. 
  • Coordinate logistics such as venue selection, catering, guest invitations, and on-site support. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless event execution and positive attendee experiences.  
  • Marketing Material Creation: 
  • Design and create marketing materials such as flyers, posters, brochures, and digital assets for events and campaigns. 
  • Develop compelling messaging and visuals to promote Relief Compass's mission, programs, and impact. 
  • Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all marketing materials and communications. 
  • Social Media Management: 
  • Assist in managing and updating Relief Compass's social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn). 
  • Create engaging content, including posts, stories, and multimedia assets, to increase followership and engagement. 
  • Monitor social media channels for mentions, comments, and messages, and respond promptly and professionally. 
  • Email Marketing and Communication: 
  • Support the development and execution of email marketing campaigns to engage emergency agencies, , State and Federal Organizations, and supporters. 
  • Assist in drafting compelling email content, subject lines, and calls-to-action to drive engagement and use cases. 
  • Segment email lists and analyze campaign performance metrics to optimize future communications. 
  • Content Creation and Storytelling: 
  • Contribute to the creation of multimedia content, including blog posts, articles, videos, and testimonials, to highlight Relief Compass's impact and stories of resilience. 
  • Conduct interviews and gather testimonials from beneficiaries, volunteers, and partners to share authentic stories of impact. 
  • Collaborate with the Strategy team to develop content calendars and storytelling campaigns 

Qualifications:

  • Essential: 
  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. 
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and social media management platforms. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a passion for storytelling and engaging audiences. 
  • Passion for humanitarian work and a commitment to Relief Compass's mission and values. 

Experience:

  • Previous experience in event planning, marketing, or social media management is preferred but not required.

  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to use a computer for extended periods of time.
