The Role 

The Legal team provides support to each facet of the Cypress Creek Renewables, LLC organization, with competencies ranging from M&A, complex financings, development, procurement, real estate, construction and general corporate governance. The internship will provide exposure to a wide variety of legal work by affording the candidate the opportunity to both work closely with the company’s attorneys in their day-to-day activities and work independently on long-term assignments. 

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Draft ancillary documents and provide general transactional support to attorneys on M&A and financing transactions 
  • Organize deal documents and corporate governance documentation 
  • Perform diligence-related tasks 
  • Perform research assignments 
  • Organize in-house knowledge resources 
  • Work cross-functionally with project development, structured finance, EPC and O&M teams 

  

Qualifications 

  • Current 1st or 2nd year law school student 
  • Demonstrated interest in renewables sector 
  • Strong analytical skills 
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral 
  • Creative problem-solving 
  • Highly organized and punctual 
  • Strong self-starter who is a team player and can work independently 

  

Timing: The position will be available for a 10-week period from May to August.  The candidate will be expected to work 40 hours a week. 

  

Location: We have offices in Santa Monica, CA, San Francisco, CA, Durham, NC, and Asheville, NC and New York, NY. Preferably a candidate will be based near one of our office locations. 

  

Compensation: The hourly rate for our Graduate/MBA internships is $30-$35/hr.
