About The Role
We are seeking motivated and talented individuals to join us for an eight-week summer internship within our Finance/Accounting/Market Risk Control department. Internships at esVolta aim to offer students industry exposure and hands-on experience. This role provides hands-on experience in energy trading, market risk management, quantitative analysis, credit risk management, accounting, business intelligence, and workflow automation, helping you build a strong foundation in renewable energy trading, risk management, accounting foundations and risk reporting.

- Support Market Risk Control in migrating eight reports from Excel to AI tools, utilizing coding when and if necessary. Create a reconciliation tool that will compare current results, which will continue to be executed for accuracy, to prove consistency and accuracy.
- Support accounting in mapping current manual and Excel actions into AI tools, utilizing coding when and if necessary.
- Document internal data sources, create visual data flow representations, and identify opportunities for improving data consistency and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze current workflows, identify inefficiencies, and assist in developing actionable recommendations.
- Map and document internal data sources and systems across departments.
- Develop visual data flow diagrams to illustrate information movement.
- Identify gaps and inefficiencies in data processes and propose solutions.
- Collaborate with teams to understand data usage, challenges, and requirements.
- Assist in creating guidelines and best practices for effective data management.
- Research automation and technology solutions to enhance workflows.
- Present insights and findings to stakeholders to aid decision-making.
Who You Are
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, quantitative finance, risk, information systems, business analytics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Excel, Python, SQL, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, detail-oriented attitude.
