Velera’s Summer Internship Program provides you – a student enrolled in an accredited university - with the chance to develop and hone your skills in business.

We offer the opportunity to build for your future by learning firsthand the Financial and more specifically Credit Union industry through professional inter-organizational experience, coupled with focused learning opportunities in your chosen career path or developmental interest. The Opportunity

Innovation across the technology landscape is advancing at an unprecedented pace, reshaping how products, services, and experiences are delivered. Specifically within the financial services industry, traditional financial institutions realize that keeping up with this speed of change requires more than internal development alone, making strategic financial technology (fintech) partnerships with best-of-breed companies within high-growth areas such as AI and financial wellness critical to staying competitive and relevant. The Emerging Partnerships Internship will have a front-row seat to view how these key strategic partnerships are formed within the credit union industry while helping identity and recommend future verticals the company should explore.

Day in the Life

  • Research and analyze modern financial institutions (e.g., neobanks) and high-growth financial services segments to identify market trends, emerging players, and growth opportunities.
  • Present your market research and recommendations to Velera senior leaders via a gap analysis presentation.
  • Assist with the creation of materials for credit union conversations such as fintech company overview profiles and fintech strategy while actively participating and engaging in the meetings.
  • Learn to hone your professionalism and communication skills by participating in high-value meetings and negotiations with current and prospective fintech partners.
  • Participate in cross-functional conversations with Velera teams such as Product and Growth to advance their fintech partnership agendas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program – upperclassmen and graduate students preferred.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate thoughts, communicate, completely, and concisely.
  • Strong organizational and professionalism skills, with the ability to consistently perform business requests.
  • Strong critical thinking, future-looking, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adjust easily when directions and priorities change on short notice.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite® with a heavy emphasis on PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in software that applies to your major and function-specific internship.
  • Passion for learning the Credit Union Industry.

Pay Equity

$21.00 - $22.00

Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
