At WSL, we pride ourselves on providing meaningful experiences to our interns. We are seeking  a summer intern on our Digital Team to support a special project focused on publishing historical surf statistics and enhancing sports analytics. In addition to contributing to this exciting initiative, the intern will gain hands-on experience and valuable exposure to the inner workings of the sports industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multiple departments to gather surf analytics and insights.
  • Organize information into a structured data schema.
  • Analyze surf statistics to uncover key insights and generate new data visualizations.
  • Work alongside designers and product managers to develop a roadmap for publishing the insights and visual content.
  • Deliver a final presentation summarizing key findings and recommended next steps.

 Qualifications: 

  • Undergraduate or Graduate Student at an accredited University pursuing a degree- focus on Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Business, Science preferred.
  • Minimum GPA requirement of 3.75
  • Professional communication skills with ability to articulate thoughts and concepts fluidly; both written and verbally
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Highly proficient using all Microsoft products including Excel; ability to quickly learn software and tools
  • The ideal candidate in the role should be knowledgeable of the CT, i.e. familiar with the tour stops, the event formats, and the heat scores.  
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week from June 16th to August 8th
