Sezzle is seeking a contractor to support our Sports Marketing & Industry Events team for a ~4-month maternity leave coverage. This is a key short-term opportunity for an experienced marketer and administrative project manager, who can jump in quickly, operate independently, and maintain momentum across several high-priority initiatives.

Location requirements:

This role is required to be based in Minneapolis to support in person company marketing events.

What You'll Do:

  • Act as the day-to-day contact for the Minnesota Timberwolves, internal teams, and potential clients.
  • Support activation of sponsorship assets across events, campaigns, signage and digital channels.
  • Manage client entertainment logistics including travel, accommodations, ticket management, scheduling, dinners, etc.
  • Ensure seamless execution of contractual obligations and suggest improvements to underperforming areas.
  • Coordinate logistics and support for key industry events, including pre-event preparation, on-site execution, and post-event sales enablement.
  • Assist in budget tracking and management to ensure efficient use of sponsorship and event resources.
  • Offer flexible availability to support events and activations as needed, including occasional nights and weekends.
  • Support Revenue team with administrative tasks.

What We Look For:

  • Experience: 3-5+ years in executive administration, marketing, project management, or sponsorships. Previous event or partner-facing experience is a plus.
  • Skillset:
    • Strong project management skills and extremely organized.
    • Excellent client-facing skills with emphasis on professionalism, responsiveness, and a service-oriented mindset.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

About You:

  • You have relentlessly high standards - many people may think your standards are unreasonably high. You are continually raising the bar and driving those around you to deliver great results. You make sure that defects do not get sent down the line and that problems are fixed so they stay fixed.
  • You’re not bound by convention - your success—and much of the fun—lies in developing new ways to do things
  • You need action - speed matters in business. Many decisions and actions are reversible and do not need extensive study. We value calculated risk-taking.
  • You earn trust - you listen attentively, speak candidly, and treat others respectfully.
  • You have backbone; disagree, then commit - you can respectfully challenge decisions when you disagree, even when doing so is uncomfortable or exhausting. You have conviction and are tenacious. You do not compromise for the sake of social cohesion. Once a decision is determined, you commit wholly.
  • You deliver results - you focus on the key inputs and deliver them with the right quality and in a timely fashion. Despite setbacks, you rise to the occasion and never settle.

  • Expected Start Date: October 1, 2025 (subject to change)
  • Expected End Date: February 1, 2026 (subject to change, potential to extend)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
