Company Description

Our client is a media and marketing agency scaling to support a national retail account with approximately $200M in annual media investment, heading into a high-stakes Q4 transition.

  • Duration: Immediate through Q4, with possible opportunity to convert to full-time role

  • Location: Remote, EST hours required

  • Hours/wk: 20-30 hours/week

  • Hourly Rate: $90-110/hr

Job Description

We need a Director/Senior Director-level integrated media strategist to support the Q4 transition of a national mattress retailer with approximately $200M in annual media investment and a roughly $26M Q4 plan. This person is the connective media lead: senior specialists will own data science, performance marketing, digital, and channel inputs, while this person owns the integrated plan, trade-offs, workstream direction, timeline, and client narrative. They must personally build the plan and presentation, resolve competing inputs, and guide the work from brief through activation.

Responsibilities

  • Create the planning spine connecting business objectives, new-customer audience priorities, channel roles, investment choices, measurement, and activation.

  • Build the approximately $26M Q4 recommendation across video, linear TV, CTV, audio, and roughly $1.5M in display.

  • Set the workplan and decision cadence across senior specialists; clarify inputs, close gaps, resolve conflicts, and keep owners moving toward one recommendation.

  • Translate Analytic Partners MMM and scenario planning, EDO, Intersect/video attribution, Adobe Analytics, and Google BDI/CDI work into clear planning decisions.

  • Protect Q4 continuity while improving the most urgent elements of a fragmented national video mix, and separate safe near-term changes from deeper Q1 opportunities.

  • Build and present the client-ready plan and deck, then carry approved decisions cleanly into activation with internal and partner teams.

Qualifications

Platforms + Measurement Products

Preferred: Analytic Partners MMM/scenario planning; EDO; Adobe Analytics; Video attribution; DV360; Amazon DSP; and Google BDI/CDI analysis. LiveRamp/CAPI identity and match-rate experience is also useful.

Qualifications

  • Integrated media strategy and planning leadership at the Director or Senior Director level on large national accounts, with a hands-on record of building the work personally.

  • Experience with high-consideration, omnichannel retail and media designed to drive store traffic, offline conversion, and sales.

  • Strong fluency across linear TV, CTV, online video, audio, display, and programmatic, with the judgment to reconcile model outputs and in-market signals.

  • Experience directing senior cross-functional contributors through a fast, high-stakes transition and presenting one decisive recommendation to clients.

  • Understanding of brand and performance trade-offs, including new-versus-repeat growth, younger audience development, store traffic, and competitive promotional peaks.

Successful Delivery of the Scope

An approved, analytically grounded Q4 plan that activation teams can execute, with clear channel roles, investment logic, audience priorities, owners, and a longer-term roadmap, without losing momentum during transition.

Key Characteristics

  • Pedigree: Director or Senior Director-level integrated media strategy background on large national accounts, comfortable being the connective lead without formal authority over contributors.

  • Passion: Genuinely energized by turning multiple expert inputs into one clear, defensible recommendation under a hard deadline.

  • Potential: Can guide senior specialists through a high-stakes transition and be trusted with a path to full-time if the fit is right.

  • Play: Low-ego collaborator and hands-on builder rather than a pure orchestrator or project manager, comfortable navigating ambiguity.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
