Overview
Beech Valley is seeking an interim Controller to support month-end close for a client onsite in Monterey, CA. This is a hands-on role for someone who can step in quickly, stabilize the close process, and ensure timely, accurate results while providing day-to-day leadership to the accounting function.
What You’ll Do
Own and drive the month-end close process, including timelines, task management, and final review
Review key reconciliations and accounting outputs to ensure completeness and accuracy
Provide day-to-day oversight and support to the accounting team (as applicable)
Partner with Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve issues and keep reporting on track
Identify close bottlenecks and implement practical process improvements (checklists, documentation, controls)
What We’re Looking For
Controller-level experience (or strong Accounting Manager stepping into Controller responsibilities)
Deep operational accounting and close leadership experience
Comfortable operating onsite in a fast-paced environment with minimal ramp time
Strong communication skills and ability to keep teams aligned around deadlines
Experience in structured close environments and working with auditors is a plus
