Consult with families who have requested life insurance information, assess their coverage needs, and recommend suitable options from more than 60 carrier partnerships. The role includes comprehensive training, ongoing mentorship, lead-based client conversations without cold calling, and building an independent book of business. Compensation is commission-based, with earnings per sale and uncapped annual income potential.

Consider this your entry point into a career where income isn't capped by a job title or a predetermined pay grade — it's set entirely by what you actually produce.

What "Consulting" Means in This Context

You'll consult with families who've already reached out about life insurance coverage, helping them navigate their options and choose the right fit using training, mentorship, and access to more than 60 carrier partnerships. This is a genuinely consultative approach, not a hard-sell pitch — your job is understanding what a family actually needs and matching them to it, not pushing whatever product happens to be top of mind.

No Cold Calling, Structurally

Every client conversation starts because they reached out first. Cold calling isn't part of this role at any point, which changes both the tone of your daily work and, frankly, how sustainable this job is to do long-term compared to roles built around cold outreach.

Support From Day One

Full training covers fundamentals for people with zero insurance background, and mentorship continues as you take on live client conversations and build your own book.

Realistic Earnings

$800 to $1,200 average per sale. Based on consistent effort:

  • $50,000+ part-time in year one
  • $80,000 to $300,000+ full-time in year one

Both figures are uncapped, with performance-based incentives available on top of standard commission and pay issued daily/weekly.

To Qualify

  • U.S. residency
  • Clean background check
  • Life & Health insurance license, or willingness to obtain one

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
