We are a marketplace where users can compare personalized, prequalified rates and quotes from multiple lenders and carriers, for student loans, mortgages, personal loans, and insurance.

We’re challenging the status quo by giving power to the consumer. We believe in a world where ‘ethical’, ‘lending’, and ‘insurance’ can coexist, so we set out to build innovative platforms that actually work for customers. Our mission is to help people find the best loan or insurance policy possible.

We believe researching and buying loans or insurance shouldn’t be confusing or complex, so we’ve focused on simplicity. We’ve created the only unbiased loan and insurance buying process out there, which makes finding options straightforward and clear.

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Insurance Quoter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for calculating and providing accurate insurance quotes for various types of policies. Your primary goal will be to help our insurance sales agents present clients with the most suitable coverage options based on their needs and budgets. If you have prior experience in the insurance industry, strong background in property and casualty insurance, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for helping people find the best insurance solutions, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze client information and insurance requirements to determine appropriate coverage options.
  • Calculate premium rates, deductibles, and policy limits using various underwriting guidelines, rating systems, and actuarial data.
  • Prepare and provide detailed insurance quotes to sales agents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with insurance sales agents, underwriters, and other insurance professionals to address any requests or questions related to quotes and coverage.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance products, industry trends, and regulatory requirements to ensure accurate and competitive quoting.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new quoting tools, processes, and strategies to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Monitor and report any bugs or irregularities encountered while using the internal quoting system, collaborating with the engineer team to ensure timely resolution and optimal system performance
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to both internal and external clients.
 Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in insurance quoting, underwriting, or a related field is a plus.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, including agility in learning new tools and workflows
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members and clients.
  • Proficiency in using computers and various software applications, including Microsoft Office suite and insurance rating systems.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry trends and best practices.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
