Your Role: As an Insurance Analyst III or above, you are responsible for supporting our claims operations overall business strategy by performing analysis to support business needs. You will formulate solutions and recommendations to complex business problems or processes, and by applying insurance knowledge, analytic methods and technical skills you will be solving unstructured problems and performing analysis of high complexity and difficulty.

You will participate in larger projects and leads smaller projects, as well as mentor less senior staff.

Your work:

  • You will have a broad variety of complex assignments, typically diverse. Validated knowledge and skills applied to making good judgments in work
  • You may participates in large projects and lead smaller projects.
  • Mentors less senior staff.
  • Performs complex analysis of data for assigned client group and how it relates to overall objectives. Research includes enlisting the collaboration of different departments outside IPM/IPO and gaining their support on findings and action plan.
  • Applies knowledge gained from involvement in broader issues to make recommendations for procedure development and analysis needed for securing desired solution.
  • Prepares findings and recommendations for clients and may be co-presenter to senior management. May review work of less seasoned staff for accuracy, logic and appropriateness.
  • You may act as coach on processes for reporting out information to clients. Makes recommendations on efficiencies and calendar.
  • The initial job duties will entail assisting the Claim Analytics Team with coding complex queries to satisfy data analytic questions and Operational reporting plus understand the accuracy and quality of data used for these critical business decisions.
  • You will also formulate opinions on whether additional vendor data or business data is needed to provide complete and accurate data insights.

Required Experience, Education and Skills 

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, business, statistics, economics, computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Typically 5+ years of directly related experience
  • Superior research, statistical, analytical, processing and mathematical skills with ability to structure and conduct analyses
  • Adaptability and the capability of multi-tasking and strong time management
  • Ability to make effective formal presentations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to coach and mentor co-workers and give feedback as required

What would make us excited about you? 

  • Knowledge of insurance, accounting and rate-making concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SAS, SQL, Python, Visual Basic, Snowflake, Power BI, and various structured analysis and design techniques
  • Advanced  degree in related field and/or CPCU designation
  • Actively shapes our company culture (e.g., participating in employee resource groups, volunteering, etc.) 
  • Lives into cultural norms (e.g., willing to have cameras when it matters: helping onboard new team members, building relationships, etc.) 
  • Travels as needed for role, including divisional / team meetings and other in-person meetings 
  • Fulfills business needs, which may include investing extra time, helping other teams, etc

The national average salary range for this position is $99,810 - $110,900 However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $89,910 - $133,200.  This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 8% of eligible pay.
