As the Institutional Gatekeeper Marketing Senior Manager, you will be responsible for leading the strategy, development and execution of all aspects of Capital Group’s thought leadership targeted at professional buyers and institutional clients.  You will be responsible for delivering on annual business objectives as well as long-term strategic initiatives supporting the business.  You will leverage marketing best practices to attract new institutional and professional buyer clients, increase loyalty, and retain current clients.  You will set the marketing priorities for the thought leadership content team and the delivery teams within it, and you will serve as the primary marketing interface to the senior stakeholders leading our gatekeeper and institutional sales teams.  You will partner with senior business leaders to ensure execution is aligned to marketing and business objectives, and you will leverage data to measure success.  You will build a broad and deep understanding of the business landscape, the audiences and clients served, and the competitive environment and marketing best practices.  You will be the voice of the client within the Marketing organization.

  • You have a deep understanding of finance, portfolio construction and asset management industry topics to lead the development of messaging and content in areas such as fixed income, target date, insurance and portfolio construction.
  • You have established, lead and achieve long-term strategic objectives, annual business priorities, and delivers business outcomes for the segment.
  • You can partner with quantitative experts in Investment Services and the Investment group to create content that is supported by data and analytics at a level that is deeper than our broader literature.
  • You have experience generating content that is robust and supported by analytics for engagement with the sophisticated buyer, including institutional consultants and clients, financial intermediaries and broker-dealer home offices.
  • You have expertise and the ability to take difficult ideas and translate them into easy-to-understand and accessible concepts.
  • You will partner with Marketing, Distribution and Investment services to deliver the annual sales and commercial goals for Capital Group.
  • You can leverage thought leadership to position Capital Group as a premier asset manager for large corporate and public pension plans, endowments & foundations.
  • You have experience developing content that can be leveraged across multiple channels: digital properties, white papers, conference presentations and pitch books aimed at a sophisticated audience.
  • You have the expertise and capability to complete projects on a turnkey basis and navigate them through the organization. You have demonstrated the level of in-depth knowledge that is necessary to go toe-to-toe with partners in Investment Services and Investment Group on a broad range of topics within their area of expertise.

Southern California Base Salary Range: $178,847-$304,040

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
