turbopuffer is looking for infra engineers who want to ship a hundred databases every day.

what you'll do:

  • make turbopuffer and our internal tooling work across multi-tenant environments, customer cloud accounts, and air-gapped environments

  • write code to improve database performance and operability

  • improve the security posture of the database and our cloud infrastructure

  • automate yourself out of a job

must have:

  • infra engineer

    • you've worked in a systems language (Rust, C++, Java, Go, etc.)

    • you’ve been responsible for standing up non-trivial cloud infrastructure in prod

    • you love shipping things to prod

  • domain expertise

    • you’ve worked extensively with kubernetes, have written a controller or four, and know how to harden a deployment

    • you’ve built and operated distributed systems. you’re familiar with distributed state machines, leases, and crash recovery

    • you’ve shipped non-trivial multi-tenant services

  • typist - you can write well and can explain complex ideas simply

  • human - you build trust and admit what you don’t know

nice to have:

  • an interest in vector and full-text search

  • prior experience with Rust

  • you’re intimately familiar with k8s security (GKE/EKS/AKS)

  • you’re intimately familiar with cloud provider auth/IAM

  • you have experience working in heavily regulated environments
