Mechanics Bank is currently searching for a Information Security Analyst to join our team. Here at Mechanics Bank, we value connection, partnership, long term relationships and working together in person. This role is based on-site in California.
Under direct supervision, Provides direction to Mechanics Banks Support team in support of the Bank’s guidelines for the establishment and modification of employee access to authorized systems. Responsible for being the eyes and ears and first level escalation for all security events generated by the banks security systems. In addition, responsible for assisting in maintaining, enhancing and automating security alerting applications.

What you will do:

  • Works with other departments to ensure compliance of company policies.

  • Assist security engineering when required with all security related projects.

  • Takes a lead role in conducting security research on threats and remediation techniques and technology. Makes recommendations to Information Security and Information Technology teams and oversees implementation. Able to fine tune and streamline all security alerting.

  • Tier 1 for all security event analysis and intrusion detection (IDS/IPS) Incident response, including triage, incident analysis/forensics and remediation.

  • Supports the Bank’s operational information security responsibilities, including the development and maintenance of standards, procedures, and guidelines necessary to satisfy the Information Security department’s network operations.

  • Proactively monitors and investigates network security alerts from managed security service providers and in-house security tools.

  • Keeps informed on new laws, threats and regulations that affect information security.

  • Work in a customer service setting. Effectively communicates with end users and upper management of all levels.

  • Travel 0-10%.

Who you are:

  • 4 Year Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • 1-year of experience as a Security/SOC Analyst or comparable role required.

  • Industry Standard Certifications, such as: CompTIA A+; CompTIA Networks +; CompTIA Security +; ISC2 CISSP, CCNA, CEH are preferred.

  • Recent college graduates who hold one or more industry certifications are encouraged to apply.

  • Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel and other industry standard software and applications.

  • Threat analysis / Incident Response: interpreting events and analyzing network traffic.

  • Mitigating and addressing threat vectors including APT, DDoS, Phishing, Malicious Payload, Cloud, Mobile Devices.

  • Knowledge of current and upcoming IT security technologies.

  • Awareness of latest and common security threats.

  • Excellent ability to diagnose and troubleshoot accessibility issues.

  • Skill in oral and written communication, including presentations to senior management.

  • Outside the box thinker.

  • Successful, timely completion of assigned compliance training is required.

Pay Range: $25.00 - $38.00 hourly

AIP/Bonus: up to 5%

Final compensation package will be determined by the work experience, education, and/or skill level of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
