Headquartered in New York City with close to 600 employees, Movable Ink serves its global client base with operations throughout North America, Central America, Europe, Australia, and Japan.

As an Incentive Compensation Manager, you will own the day-to-day administration, governance, analysis, and continuous improvement of Movable Ink's incentive compensation programs. This is an individual contributor role with significant functional ownership and cross-functional visibility.

You will be responsible for ensuring our incentive compensation programs are executed accurately and on time while also helping evolve the processes, systems, controls, and analyses that support them. You will serve as a subject matter expert on incentive compensation and a key partner to Revenue Operations, Sales, Finance, Accounting, People, and Business Systems.

This role requires someone who can operate at both the strategic and detailed levels: independently managing complex compensation cycles, identifying and resolving issues, modeling potential plan changes, translating compensation strategy into executable processes, and continuously improving how the function operates.

The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on incentive compensation experience with strong analytical judgment, operational rigor, and the ability to lead cross-functional work without direct authority.

Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end administration of monthly and quarterly variable compensation, including accurate and timely calculations, payroll inputs, plan documentation, and reconciliation controls that ensure payouts are complete, traceable, and audit-ready.
  • Partner on the design and implementation of new and revised incentive compensation programs by modeling proposed changes, translating approved designs into executable business rules, and ensuring plans are ready to launch on time.
  • Build and maintain scalable reporting that gives plan participants and leadership clear visibility into attainment, payouts, compensation expense, and plan performance.
  • Serve as the primary owner of compensation questions and issues, investigating discrepancies, identifying root causes, coordinating resolution across stakeholders, and communicating outcomes clearly to employees and business leaders.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the incentive compensation operating model, identifying opportunities to enhance scalability, automation, data quality, and controls across processes and systems.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in incentive compensation, Revenue Operations, Finance, or a related function, including at least 3 years of hands-on experience administering variable compensation programs.
  • Demonstrated experience owning recurring incentive compensation processes end-to-end, including commission calculations, plan administration, reconciliations, payroll inputs, participant support, and issue resolution.
  • Experience supporting the design, modeling, implementation, and administration of incentive compensation plans, with the ability to translate plan concepts into clear business rules and executable processes.
  • Experience with incentive compensation management software (CaptivateIQ strongly preferred) and CRM platforms (ideally Salesforce), with a strong understanding of how bookings, quotas, crediting, and organizational changes affect compensation outcomes.
  • Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills, including complex calculations, large datasets, scenario modeling, and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and compensation controls expertise, including the ability to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, implement durable solutions, and evaluate proposed plan changes for financial, operational, and behavioral implications.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects, drive decisions across stakeholders without direct authority, and communicate complex compensation concepts clearly to participants, business leaders, and senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and project-management skills, with a process-improvement mindset, the ability to manage multiple compensation cycles and competing priorities, and a high degree of discretion when handling confidential information.

The base pay range for this position is CAD$95,000-$125,000/year, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. The base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
