ABOUT STEER HEALTH:

Steer Health is an AI-native healthcare engagement platform serving 109 organizations across 472+ locations and 19M+ patients. Our products — Luna AI (autonomous voice and outreach), SteerNotes (AI clinical documentation), FastTrackCare (digital front door), and Revenue Cycle Intelligence — help health systems grow faster, reduce administrative burden, and deliver better patient experiences. We are growing at 48% year-over-year and we are just getting started.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager who can run fast, communicate with precision, and own healthcare implementations from contract signature to go-live — without dropping a single thread.

This is not a coordinator role. You will manage complex, multi-stakeholder deployments across hospital systems and outpatient networks, lead EHR integration workstreams, configure AI-powered workflows in Steer Studio, and be the single point of accountability on every engagement you own. You will work directly alongside our VP of Customer Success, Implementation, Engineering, and GTM leads and be a key driver of how we scale.

This role includes periodic travel to customer sites throughout the United States to lead implementation workshops, support go-live activities, facilitate stakeholder alignment, and ensure successful adoption. The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships face-to-face and understands when an onsite presence can accelerate customer success.

If you move quickly, communicate proactively, and know how to get a health system IT director and a CMO aligned in the same meeting — read on.

Requirements

5+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in healthcare technology or health IT

Proven experience managing EHR integrations (Epic, Cerner, Athena, eClinicalWorks, or equivalent)

Working knowledge of HL7, FHIR, or clinical data exchange standards; ability to engage technical teams at depth

Comfortable operating with structured accountability and clear performance metrics in a fast-paced environment

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to health system C-suite executives

Track record managing multiple complex implementations simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency with project management platforms (Asana, Jira, or equivalent)

Comfort with ambiguity and the pace of a high-growth startup

Willingness and ability to travel throughout the United States (approximately 20-30%) to support customer onboarding, implementation, training, and go-live activities

Comfortable facilitating onsite workshops, executive presentations, and stakeholder alignment sessions with healthcare leaders

Ability to travel on short notice when required to support critical customer initiatives or launch activities
Responsibilities:

Own end-to-end implementation delivery for assigned clients, from kick-off through go-live and hypercare

Lead technical integration workstreams including EHR connectivity, HL7/FHIR data exchange, and workflow configuration via Steer Studio and Mirth Connect

Maintain detailed project plans, risk logs, and status reports; proactively surface and resolve blockers

Serve as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders (IT, clinical operations, C-suite) throughout the implementation lifecycle

Coordinate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to ensure seamless handoffs and issue resolution

Manage 10+ concurrent implementations without letting quality slip

Contribute to and maintain implementation playbooks, onboarding templates, and lessons-learned documentation

Participate in weekly operating cadences with clear metrics, accountability, and issue resolution

Track and report key implementation KPIs — time-to-go-live, adoption rates, integration success rates — to leadership weekly

Travel to customer sites as needed to lead implementation workshops, executive stakeholder meetings, end-user training, and go-live support activities

Serve as Steer's onsite implementation lead during key project milestones and customer launches

Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders through both virtual and in-person engagement.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with AI, voice agent, or patient engagement platform implementations
  • Background in revenue cycle management or clinical workflow automation
  • Experience at multi-hospital or large health system accounts
  • Familiarity with Mirth Connect or integration engine platforms
  • PMP or CAPM certification
  • Series A/B startup experience
  • GCP or cloud-based SaaS environment background

Benefits

●      Competitive base salary commensurate with experience

●      Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision)

●      High-autonomy environment with direct access to executive leadership

●      Structured operating cadence with clear goals, metrics, and career growth targets

●      Work that touches 19M+ patients — the mission is real
●      Flexible PTOs and Company holidays

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
