Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions - to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we've embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes - large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We're building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.
The Role
Block is seeking a strategic and process-driven Implementation Manager to join our GSO team. As a key member of our organization, you will lead the development and execution of onboarding processes across our First-Party (1P) and Third-Party (3P) programs. This remote position plays a crucial role in delivering a world-class seller experience through optimized workflows, quality assurance, and comprehensive training support.
Working directly with the Global Head of Vendor Strategy & GSO BPO, you will be the driving force behind operational excellence and team enablement. This role requires up to 20% travel and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our seller onboarding experience while collaborating with cross-functional teams across the organization.
You Will
  • Design and maintain scalable implementation workflows for 1P and 3P seller onboarding
  • Own the development and delivery of training materials, implementation playbooks, and onboarding documentation
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for implementation-related issues, maintaining SLA standards
  • Lead the QA process for all closeout forms and onboarding deliverables
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, CS, Sales, and Operations to streamline timelines and handoffs
  • Monitor and report on implementation progress to key stakeholders
  • Use data and feedback loops to identify trends, gaps, and drive continuous improvement
  • Align closely with the Vendor Manager and GSO leadership to ensure consistent delivery
  • Support initiatives that enhance the seller experience and operational handoffs
  • Define and track key implementation metrics to drive accountability
  • Participate in platform and tool evaluations to improve implementation outcomes

You Have
  • 3-5+ years of experience in implementation, project management, operations, or vendor onboarding
  • Proven success building or improving operational processes at scale
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional organization abilities
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating across departments and with external partners or BPOs
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with global teams and workflows
  • Comfort with project management tools (Salesforce, Asana, Jira, Taskray, or similar platforms)
  • Preferred: Background in marketplace, SaaS, or seller/vendor operations

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
