The Position

The Implementation Consultant demonstrates and positions the end-to-end value of the Roche portfolio of solutions (systems) and Roche Consulting services to our customers. This field-based position creates value by focusing on implementing complex automated laboratory solutions to improve the customers' desired future state. This position partners with customers and internal stakeholders (sales, global Roche Consulting teams, RSN, marketing, IT, and other teams) to address customers' unique priorities, challenges, and needs through continuous improvement efforts, including (but not limited to) collecting and reviewing customer feedback, refining methods/tools, performing complex analyses, and recommending solutions. This position utilizes a consultative approach and technical expertise to ensure the customer is prepared and the Roche solution is verified to be implemented and deliver expected results.

 

The Opportunity

  • Collaboratively communicate short-term and long-term recommendations that deliver efficiency, safety, and effectiveness to help solve a customer’s challenges and improve process performance; survey and analyze best practices for techniques and processes.

  • Verify and validate that the proposed Roche solution still meets or exceeds customers' expected results before implementation, and assist customers with workflow issues related to Roche systems.

  • Provide implementation support to customers and installation teams; collaboratively develop detailed customer installation requirements with relevant stakeholders. 

  • Responsible for identifying opportunities to optimize the implemented Roche solution and collaborating with Roche partners to take action; follow a standardized approach that creates evidence-based, differentiated value for the solution portfolio.

  • Collaborate with Roche Consulting team members to develop metrics, collect data to identify root causes of problems and measure performance against process requirements; align improvement to performance targets. 

  • Collaborate with Roche Consulting colleagues to refine and evolve proprietary tools and techniques for high-value deliverables, best practices, and methods delivering differentiated, value-creating consulting services; deliver consulting services such as Rapid Planning Events, Workflow Planning Events, Change Management.

  • Provide support to assess customer laboratories and work practices; recommend near- and longer-term improvements, and contribute to adopting standardized practices for consistent national delivery of consulting services.

  • Communicate, internally and externally, the value of Roche Consulting services through written documents, speaking engagements, and marketing materials; facilitate RC training to sales, service, and customer teams; collect and provide feedback to improve Roche Consulting solutions, products, and services.

Who You Are

The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with wide-ranging experience addressing diverse and often complex issues, requiring in-depth analysis and evaluation of many factors. Exercising appropriate judgment in selecting evaluation methods and determining solution criteria is critical. The ideal candidate demonstrates agility in a rapidly changing, matrixed organization and is comfortable operating in an evolving, ambiguous environment. Additionally, the ideal candidate is comfortable coordinating the activities of others, networking with internal and external senior personnel in areas of expertise, and networking with key contacts outside the area of expertise. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Sciences, or a closely related scientific/technical discipline. 

  • You have 5 years of experience in Operations, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory or equivalent, including experience in successfully leading cross-functional teams in driving results.

  • Experience with process mapping, statistical, and reporting tools 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Able to travel +75% of the time 

  • Master’s degree in business or healthcare discipline (MBA, MHA, MHSA, MPH) 

  • 5+ years of management experience delivering and managing consulting services using Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement analytical tools/processes in a laboratory and/or healthcare setting. 

  • Black Belt, Master Black Belt, and/or Champion certification in Lean Six Sigma or other similar, advanced continuous improvement certification 

  • 3+ years of commercial experience in a sales, service-oriented, or consulting environment 

  • Proficiency using Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Middleware; familiarity with Roche Infinity. 

  • Strong organization and analytical skills to uncover key technical, operational, and strategic issues. 

  • Ability to use analytical methods and applications to support consulting engagement conclusions and recommendations. 

  • Ability to help define and contribute to new business concepts with RDC’s total solution, including creating and delivering professional services, and creating methods, and tools. 

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills to influence customer decision-makers by articulating ideas and influencing others to adopt solutions. This includes the ability to credibly recommend changes to lab practices to improve waste, cost, quality, and turnaround times. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead, manage, and influence people at various organizational levels internally and within the customer site. 

  • General understanding of IVD Laboratory Solutions and their workflow/functioning; within the lab and at an institutional level.

  • Familiarity with Roche and/or competitor Products

***This is a field-based role, the territory consists of multiple states in the West region including Utah, Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Washington and Northern California

Relocation benefits are not provided for this posting. 

A company car is provided with this position.

 The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is a minimum range of 96,800.00 and maximum range  of 179,800.00.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
