The Role

Glia is looking for a part-time social media intern to help us level up our presence on LinkedIn. We’re looking for someone passionate about social media who can take our existing thought leadership and turn it into high-performing LinkedIn content.

The Details
  • Time: 10–20 hours/week through the summer.

  • Location: Fully remote.

  • Future: Potential for this to evolve into a full-time hire or contract-to-hire role.

  • Pay: $25/hour

Who We’re Looking For
  • Content Creators: Someone comfortable with design tools like Canva and Figma, and using AI tools like Gemini or Claude to scale content creation. Strong writing skills are a must!

  • LinkedIn Savvy: Someone who understands social media metrics and algorithms—and is excited about the challenge of multiplying our follower count.

  • Culture Builders: An outgoing personality who can lean in internally, meeting with senior leaders and inspiring our team to increase their own engagement on social media.

  • Self-Driven & Resourceful: We need someone who will proactively surface ideas and participate in brainstorms as opposed to waiting to be assigned tactical to-dos.

  • Curious & Energetic: Someone who is eager to learn about our customers and the banking industry, and excited to jump into the AI era.

Responsibilities Include
  • Content Strategy & Execution: Working directly with Glia’s Communications Manager to build an editorial calendar that brings press releases, awards, customers, and thought leadership to life across LinkedIn.

  • Creative Production: Drafting engaging copy and designing graphics to make our posts stand out.

  • Community Management: Managing the Glia company page, engaging with followers, and responding to customers and industry voices.

  • Internal Advocacy: Partnering with our internal teams and senior leaders to brainstorm content ideas and create resources for employees to post confidently on their own LinkedIn profiles.

Requirements

  • Strong writing skills.

  • Social Media experience.

  • Linkedin experience preferred.

  • Experience with AI content generation tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude.

  • Must have a completed Bachelor’s Degree or in the process of completing one.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
