The IBM Sterling Solutions Engineer - Integration is responsible for designing, building, and supporting system integrations that connect customer platforms with a minimum of 8+ years hands-on technical experience with IBM Sterling software suite. This role focuses on EDI, APIs, and event-driven integrations across ERP (Oracle), and customer applications. This role is critical to enabling customer onboarding, automation, visibility, and self-service capabilities.

You will set the architectural standards which the integration project builds upon. This is a leadership position

B2B Integrator (Maps, BPML/2, Services/Adapters, Administration, Tuning, Troubleshooting:

  • Expertise in IBM B2B deployment architecture
  • Expertise in IBM B2B process design and development
  • Ability to design and architect EDI platform from ground up and should have great knowledge of all areas of Sterling Integrator including use of Code lists, BP’s, Mapping, SI Administration
  • Architect the business requirement using BPML and Maps in Sterling environment
  • Knowledge on concept of Cloud hosting in any of the cloud platforms – AWS, GCP, Azure
  • Cloud solution architect certification would be preferred
  • Clear Network connection, ports, DB concepts
  • Clear idea on communication protocols – HTTPS, SFTP, FTP/S, AS2
  • Prior experience on EDI Migration projects
  • IBM B2B mapping with verities – X12, EDIFACT, XML - mostly any to any.
  • Experience in supporting EAI and B2B tools like IBM Sterling Integrator Business Suit (Sterling B2B Integrator, Sterling File Gateway, Sterling Control Center, Sterling External Authentication Server, Sterling Secure Proxy, Sterling Connect: Direct)
  • Experience with EDI Mapping for Oracle highly desirable

 Core IBM Sterling Expertise:

  • Expert-level development and architecture in IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (SBI)
  • Advanced Business Process Modeling: BPML/BPML2 design, orchestration, optimization
  • Complex EDI map development using Sterling Map Editor (X12, EDIFACT, TRADACOMS)
  • High-volume translation, enveloping/de-enveloping, compliance validation
  • Deep troubleshooting skills using Sterling logs, message tracking, and monitoring tools
  • B2B/EDI & Integration Skills
  • Mastery of B2B communication protocols: AS2, SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, OFTP2
  • Advanced EDI standards knowledge: X12, EDIFACT, XML/EDI, CICA
  • Strong integration experience with REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, XSLT, XPath
  • Secure communications: TLS/SSL handshake troubleshooting, PGP/GPG encryption, certificate lifecycle management
  • Bachelor's degree is required (Master's degree is preferred)
