About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer to join CrowdStrike’s IAM team. In this role, you’ll lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable IAM strategies and architectures. You’ll also ensure alignment with security policies, regulatory requirements, and operational needs while continuously improving access management processes across the organization.
 

What You'll Do:

  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive IAM programs, including Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Access Management (AM)

  • Integrate IAM systems with cloud and on-premises applications, directories, and other IT services

  • Develop and enforce role-based access control (RBAC) policies and least-privilege/zero-trust access principles

  • Implement and maintain automated provisioning, de-provisioning, and role management processes

  • Manage systems for Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and password management

  • Lead IAM-related projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., Technology, DevOps, Security)

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to team members

  • Streamline IAM processes through automation and advanced technologies

  • Enforce IAM policies, standards, and controls to address related threats and vulnerabilities

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to evaluate and recommend IAM best practices for enterprise security strategies

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend enhancements

  • Collaborate with internal teams to assess and optimize IAM-related workflows and processes

  • Work directly with vendors to identify and implement improvements

  • Serve as a technical solution architect for IAM solutions, designing practical and effective solutions

  • Drive initiatives to increase the reliability and efficiency of IAM operations

  • Provide thought leadership and best practices for IAM implementations

  • Facilitate training and knowledge transfer sessions on IAM utilization

  • Identify opportunities to simplify architecture and workflows to enhance user experience and enable rapid innovation in workforce IAM

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • 3+ years of experience in IAM or related IT security roles

  • Strong expertise in IAM concepts, RBAC, and protocols (SAML, OAuth, OIDC)

  • Hands-on experience with leading IGA platforms

  • Proficiency in development tools and scripting languages (Java, SQL)

  • Experience integrating IAM solutions with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, GDPR)

  • Advanced understanding of business processes, internal control risk management, and IT controls

  • Ability to identify and evaluate complex business and technology risks

  • Experience with access certification, role management, and segregation of duties (SoD) controls

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder environments with a collaborative mindset

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CGEIT) preferred

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with cloud-based identity solutions and integrations

  •  Knowledge of additional scripting languages (e.g., Java, PowerShell, Python, Go) for automation

  •  Familiarity with SIEM tools and security analytics

  •  Understanding of privileged access management (PAM) concepts and tools

  •  Experience in executing advanced services and supervising staff in delivering basic services

  •  IIQ 8.X (On-Prem) and or IdentityNow/Internet Security Cloud (ISC) (Cloud Product) experience

Within the first 30 days you will:

  • Complete onboarding with HR

  • Get their environment set up

  • Take on some tickets, bugs. Resolving some tech debt or bugs from backlog to start; something that doesn’t require a lot of subject matter expertise.

  • Take on 3 story points

  • All work committed has tests

  • Complete the IAM-specific courses

  • New hire maintains availability during core business hours and effectively communicates issues ahead of time.
     

60 days:

  • Taking on more tickets and bugs. Ticket resolution.

  • Collaborating with team by giving and receiving feedback

  • Comfortable raising question to the team

  • 6 story points and velocity – (for reference, 8 or 9 story points per sprint for a fully onboarded person)

  • Making sure they truly understand the requirements and the bugs
     

By 90 days:

  • Participate in the on-call rotation

  • Taking 8-9 story points

  • Participating in technical design and grooming sessions with the team

  • Do a technical design if the opportunity is available

  • Give a presentation on something they don’t like about the system or an area that has room for improvement
     

By 6 months:

  • Taking 8-9 story points

  • Mentoring if the opportunity is available

  • Know how system works and be able to set up workflows

  • Collaborate on any part of the product independently. Measure this by checking on how much they are reaching out to their buddy to help guide them

  • Measure differences between commitments and actual delivery. New hire should deliver commitments 90% of the time
     

By 1 year:

  • Trust them to be part of the interview panel for new roles

  • Participate in owning tech design document if the opportunity is available

Placement within the pay range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location. The base salary range for this position for all U.S. candidates is $100,000 - $155,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401k and paid time off.
