Job Title:Human Resources SpecialistJob Description:

Summary

The Human Resource Specialist will assist the HR Business Partner team and the HR department with onboarding, employee relations, performance improvement, HRIS management, records administration, and HR compliance.  This position assists the HR function with administering and implementing policies and programs relative to employment, employee relations, and overall development of human resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct support and assistance to the HR Business Partners and managers on Human Resources related matters, ensuring alignment with company policies, goals and objectives. Responsible for answering policy and procedure related questions.

  • Maintains accurate records within HRIS and completes employee processes, such as promotions, pay changes, organization adjustments, etc., ensuring data accuracy.

  • Assists with employee relations concerns by assisting with investigations, drafting corrective actions and processing terminations.

  • Performs responsibilities related to the employee experience, such as orientations, providing performance review and goal setting support, creating, updating and maintaining job descriptions, and conducting exit interviews.

  • Runs reports and assists with data review and analysis to track and measure HR metrics.

  • Partners with Benefits and Compensation teams to monitor and assist with leaves of absence and accommodations.

  • Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations.

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively

  • Basic knowledge of federal and state labor law. Ability to learn employment law in California.

  • Ability to understand and communicate business needs in an understandable and succinct manner.

  • Results-oriented and self-motivated

  • Excellent organization, planning skills, and attention to detail

  • Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ human resources or other relevant business-related experience in a fast-paced environment with a team focus.

  • Experience in employee relations and conducting investigations preferred

  • Experience in financial services / banking preferred

Computer and Software Skills:

  • Microsoft office suite

  • Workday preferred

  • None
