The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the functions of the Human Resources (HR) including recruitment, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and developing and enforcing company policies and practices.

As the HR Manager you will be responsible for supporting our leaders to attract, develop and retain top talent in support of the growth strategy of the business, administering benefits, pay and leave and developing best practices.

Key responsibilities:

  • Builds organizational capability through ownership and execution of the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to acquisition, assessment, performance management, employee development, succession planning and retention.  Facilitate talent reviews to assess pipeline strength, determine development focus areas or gaps in the organization and implement necessary actions.
  • Coach and influence leaders to improve performance and leader effectiveness while fostering a culture of manager ownership and accountability of the employee life cycle.
  • Provides support and guidance to HR staff, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Facilitates constructive and timely performance evaluations across the business.
  • Promotes positive employee relations and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations.
  • Provides guidance to leaders regarding policies, best practices, laws and regulations to ensure compliance with local and governmental regulatory requirements. 
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • A minimum of five years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.

Required Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent facilitation and coaching skills.  Strong employee relations skills with the proven ability to drive change and leadership ownership / accountability.
  • Strong leader of people with proven capability to empower, motivate and develop others.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong drive for results and sense of urgency; data and metrics driven
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking capability and business acumen.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

CA compensation range requirement: $120k - $140k
