About this opportunity – Human Resources Manager
Description
The Human Resources Manager – US Business is a hands-on, people-centric leader responsible for driving HR operational excellence across our U.S. commercial, manufacturing, and support functions. This role ensures compliance, fosters a high-performance culture, and delivers best-in-class HR support aligned with both strategic business goals and our company’s values.
Reporting to the VP, Human Resources – Americas, this position is key in implementing HR initiatives in talent management, employee relations, organizational development, and compliance, while partnering closely with U.S. business leaders and the broader global HR function.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and execute HR operations for the U.S. organization, supporting a diverse employee population in commercial, corporate, and manufacturing functions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to functional and site leaders on workforce planning, employee development, performance management, and engagement strategies.
- Own employee relations processes, conducting investigations, resolving conflicts, and implementing proactive solutions to maintain a productive and compliant workplace.
- Partner with the Talent Acquisition & Development team to drive recruitment, onboarding, and internal mobility across U.S. teams.
- Support implementation and sustainment of the global performance and development framework.
- Provide HR reporting and analytics for headcount, turnover, talent pipeline, and employee engagement insights to inform decisions.
- Drive local execution of global HR programs, including total rewards, DEI, and employee experience initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. federal and state labor laws, company policies, and industry-specific regulatory requirements.
- Partner with the HRIS and payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely HR transactions and system integrity.
- Champion culture-building activities aligned with company values and business strategy.
- Manage and coach junior HR team members in the U.S., fostering continuous development and accountability.
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate pay.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, pay changes, leave of absence) in the HRIS.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll inquiries, issue resolution, and employee support related to pay.
- Ensure compliance with payroll-related federal, state, and local laws, and coordinate quarterly and annual tax filings with payroll vendors.
Qualification Requirements
Skills:
- Proactive business partner with strong collaboration, communication, and influencing skills.
- Deep understanding of HR laws and practices in the U.S., especially California employment law.
- Strong problem-solving and change management abilities.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, matrixed, and global environment.
Pre-requisites / Job Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required.
- MBA or relevant HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) highly preferred.
- 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a management or business partner capacity.
- Prior experience supporting both manufacturing and corporate/commercial teams preferred.
- Experience in the medical device or healthcare sector is a strong plus.
Physical Requirements
- Moderate standing or walking.
- Extended periods of sitting.
- Heavy computer use.
- Light lifting up to 15 lbs.
