About Us

Aptitude 8 is not a marketing agency who struggles to say yes to technical projects, we’re a technical consulting firm focused on helping companies get the most out of HubSpot. Across our services teams, we help our clients deliver wonderful buying experiences.

Come join a rapidly growing professional services firm - fully remote, great benefits, 401k, and the opportunity to provide high impact work for a team of solutions driven, people focused, collaborators!

About the Role

We’re looking for a Principal Consultant to join our Services Team! In this senior client-facing role, you’ll serve as the strategic and technical lead for enterprise-level HubSpot engagements. Principal Consultants are responsible for shaping solutions, driving delivery excellence, and building lasting client partnerships. You’ll guide teams, influence client roadmaps, and ensure that every project not only meets technical requirements but also achieves measurable business outcomes.

This role combines HubSpot mastery, technical architecture expertise, and executive-level client engagement with leadership responsibilities across project teams and accounts. As a Principal Consultant, you are not just delivering projects—you are shaping enterprise strategy, elevating client relationships, and ensuring A8’s reputation for delivery excellence. Your impact is measured in both the success of your portfolio and the growth of the consultants you mentor.

A Normal Day in this Role

Solution Implementation

  • Lead complex enterprise client projects, including implementations, integrations, migrations, and custom developments on the HubSpot platform.
  • Build scalable, multi-hub solutions that leverage advanced HubSpot features (custom objects, workflows, Operations Hub, APIs, webhooks) and third-party integrations.
  • Design clear, documented solution frameworks (diagrams, process maps) to align clients and delivery teams.
  • Establish best practices for data governance, hygiene, and technical solutioning across the practice.

Client Engagement

  • Serve as the primary strategic advisor for senior stakeholders, from directors to C-suite, building trust and long-term partnerships.
  • Lead discovery sessions, executive workshops, and steering committees to shape solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Translate complex technical designs into actionable business value for non-technical audiences.
  • Manage UAT processes, secure stakeholder sign-off, and ensure adoption of delivered solutions.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Lead consultants within project teams by setting direction, clarifying priorities, and ensuring high-quality execution.
  • Oversee portfolio health: balancing budgets, utilization, delivery risks, and client satisfaction.
  • Delegate and QA deliverables, ensuring quality across engagements.
  • Contribute to practice-wide IP, service offerings, and thought leadership that reinforce A8’s reputation.

Strategic Growth

  • Own overall delivery success, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-value outcomes.
  • Help identify and scope expansions, renewals, and change orders within client accounts.
  • Support sales opportunities through solutioning, scoping, and executive-level presentations.

About You

  • Experience: 5+ years in enterprise consulting, digital transformation, or HubSpot implementations. Proven success leading complex projects or managing a portfolio of enterprise accounts.
  • HubSpot Expertise: Advanced HubSpot certifications; deep proficiency across Sales, Marketing, Service, and Operations Hubs. Ability to design complex, multi-hub architectures and integrations.
  • Technical Skills: Data modeling, migrations, HubSpot API/webhooks, and third-party integrations (Salesforce, NetSuite, middleware tools). Strong architectural and governance skills.
  • Leadership & Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, manage client portfolios, mentor colleagues, and contribute to business growth.
  • Client-Centric Communication: Skilled at translating technical concepts into business outcomes, engaging executives, and building long-term partnerships.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
