We are currently seeking an experienced trainer and instructional designer to be the founding member of the Learning and Development team within our Client Services department. The Training Manager will report to the Director of Client Services and will own training and education initiatives within the team. Key responsibilities include identifying training objectives and needs, creating training programs, developing instructional material, and delivering training to customers with a focus on online self-learning and instructor led webinars. This role will bring to our team strong expertise in distance learning technologies and eLearning design.

 

Our Training Manager will help our customers learn and use our technology platform to more effectively drive their wholesale business.

The candidate will be a hybrid of professor, technologist, and product evangelist. You must be capable of quickly and deeply understanding the functionality of SaaS technology and teaching a range of audiences how to use it.

Responsibilities

  • Help make all NuORDER customers and partners become active, successful users of our software by designing and developing a world class training curriculum
  • Provide oversight for all aspects of user training programs including training objectives, course development, roll-out planning, and coordination with customers and internal staff
  • Create learning and performance-based training materials and assessments that emphasize adult learning concepts, active learning practices, and objectives-based instructional strategies
  • Deliver and coordinate education and certification programs including self-paced trainings, webinars, presentations, videos, and documentation
  • Create quizzes to assess comprehension of educational material
  • Create, edit and maintain user guides, FAQs, knowledge base articles, and in-product help documentation
  • Assist with writing product Release Notes
  • Develop, monitor and help innovate onboarding programs for Success teams
  • Manage and administer a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Recommend learning metrics to assess the effectiveness and business impact of training programs
  • Deliver regular reports that provide qualitative and quantitative analysis of training programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in technical writing, education and certification programs or related fields with proven success delivering technical training for a software company
  • Experience in planning and designing interactive learning activities, including instructional design, course development, curriculum design, ADDIE, SCORM and the latest training trends
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and detailed understanding of training theories, methodologies, and techniques, specially related to the use of technology in adult education
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) required
  • Strong technical writing experience
  • Technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new concepts and tools
  • Have the ability to produce recent work samples upon request
  • Excellent communication skills, with both customers and internal teams
  • Experience building a team function or start-up background is a plus
  • Able to work from our office in Westwood, CA (no telecommuting)
