Position Overview:
The PLL is seeking a Sr Manager Human Resources to oversee Human Resources operations and continue to develop best practices and procedures to suit a fast-growing high-energy environment. This role will report to the SVP Finance and People Operations and work closely with other Senior Management to take a proactive strategic approach to People Operations during this critical growth phase of the company. This is a full-time position with a strong preference to be located in Los Angeles. The position offers a competitive compensation package.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with senior leadership and monitors staff feedback to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention for PLL’s Front Office.
- Develops and implements policies and practices to support the organization’s human resource initiatives and compliance requirements, ensure proper documentation and reduce risks.
- Oversees the administration of programs including, compensation, performance reviews, health and safety standards, culture committee and benefits for players and front office personnel.
- Manages Front Office employee matters; disputes and investigations; disciplinary matters, performance and talent management; productivity, anti-harassment, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Collaborates with Finance and Lacrosse Operations to implement effective compensation, commissions, bonus and workers compensation policies.
- Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management and takes a hands-on approach in execution.
- Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
- Develops and manages a departmental budget.
- Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 5-7 years of human resource management (2-4 supervisory) experience is required.
- Preference for SHRM-CP or PHR Certified.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and execute under deadlines.
- Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations. Notable in California and New York
- Proficient with Microsoft and Google Office Suite, HRIS software including ADP Workforce Now and Lattice.
