WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR:

The Senior Payroll Specialist will report to the Sr. Payroll Manager and be responsible for performing the full spectrum of duties accurately and timely for our US, biweekly, multi state payroll. The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Perform daily payroll functions including processing on-cycle/off-cycle payrolls as required
  • Prepare payroll review workbooks for management review in adherence with SOX controls
  • Audit and validate all payroll transmissions for accuracy and reasonability of fluctuation
  • Accurately report compensation related to equity
  • Perform daily reconciliation of all payrolls in partnership with G/L Accounting team
  • Develop ad-hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
  • Manage time and tasks to execute all payrolls accurately and timely
  • Streamline and automate manual tasks by leveraging current systems in place
  • Perform/review prior period adjustments as needed
  • First level payroll contact for all payroll inquiries
  • Research, analyze and resolve payroll-related queries, including tax notices
  • Create and import data into Workday via EIB process
  • Process timely and with confidentiality, all garnishment notices
  • Apply for new state jurisdiction and set up in Workday as needed
  • Prepare quarter and year-end review workbooks for manager review
  • Perform and track prior quarter adjustments/amendments to completion
  • Cross train with partnering payroll specialist(s) to ensure business continuity
  • Partner with People Ops/HRIS/Benefits to understand and support voluntary payroll deductions
  • Possess clear understanding of proper taxation of employer provided benefits
  • Partner with HRIS/3rd party configuration support to report and resolve Workday issues
  • Partner with Global Mobility team to monitor international assignments and report shadow payroll
  • Support Finance, People Ops, and other business partners to deliver accurate payroll

WHO YOU ARE:

  • 7+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience, including setting up new state jurisdiction
  • Current experience with Workday HCM/Payroll and OSV wage/tax service
  • Strong knowledge of payroll principles, best practices, federal and state regulations
  • Analytical skills and ability to perform detailed, technical payroll calculations
  • Critical thinking skills to resolve issues or improve processes.
  • Ability to prioritize and work under deadline pressures
  • Experience with reporting equity compensation
  • Possess an aptitude for customer service
  • Self-starter who can work independently and learn quickly
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Previously worked with a publicly held company
  • Strong understanding of SOX compliance requirements
  • CPP is a plus
