We are looking for a Senior Payroll Manager to be responsible for overseeing the Payroll department, directing staff in the delivery of timely and accurate payrolls, while ensuring compliance and the department’s goals and objectives are met. We are looking for someone that understands Payroll’s nuances and complexities in a fast-growing company and can think creatively and contribute cross-functionally. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Develop, mentor and effectively leverage Payroll Specialists.
  • Oversee all aspects of standard payroll processing, which includes, the completion of routine on-cycle and off-cycle payrolls, manual check preparation, validation of payroll adjustments and amendments, quarterly/annual tax reporting and SOX compliance.
  • Support the stock-based compensation system integrations and manage payroll processing of option exercises, RSU, and ESPP for proper income reporting and tax withholding.
  • Oversee the processing of imputed income, related but not limited to, non-cash fringe, mobility, expat and shadow payrolls.
  • Assess processes and controls for scale, identify efficiencies, focus on improvement and system optimization (Workday), drive change, and manage priorities.
  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of all payroll related reports.
  • Partner with Accounting team to ensure all payroll data is accurately delivered via integration, posted to the general ledger and reconciled timely.
  • Partner with Benefits, People Operations and HRIS to facilitate accurate and timely processing of all payroll changes.
  • Monitor employee inquiries to ensure they are promptly and appropriately resolved.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Liaise with internal/external auditors and manage timely deliverance of payroll related audit requests.
  • Focus on continuous improvement activities by benchmarking with industry peers and engagement with vendors to identify leading business processes and technologies and evaluate for implementation.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting/finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of payroll and payroll tax experience in a publicly traded, global, multi-state company with 1,000+ employees.
  • 3+ years of strong leadership experience.
  • Must be a subject matter expert in current payroll wage/ tax regulations and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll accounting and reconciliations.
  • Experience working with Workday, third party tax filing and wage payment vendor(s).
  • Proficient with MS Excel.
  • Highly organized, detail driven individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good planning and assessment skills to balance and prioritize work for the payroll team.
  • Thrives in a fast paced, deadline-oriented work environment and performs with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent relationship building, business collaboration skills to communicate and partner across all levels of management.
