About the role

As Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the scaling of our company and nurturing the caring culture at Albert that we are so proud of. You will be a key partner across all functions in ensuring HR compliance and best practices are consistently applied. Reporting directly to the Head of People, you will collaboratively define and implement a thoughtful, sustainable workforce plan that considers existing talent, gaps, structure and change management.

  • Collaborating with functional leaders, managers and the People team to ensure Albert's culture is cultivated and nurtured throughout the company.
  • Understanding the entire cycle of Workforce Planning and possessing the knowledge required to implement all parts of it.
  • Communicating clear plans, solutions and best practices associated with the role of a human resources expert and partner.
  • Demonstrating a clear knowledge and versatility in HR compliance, laws and best practices.
  • Implementing and maintaining competitive employee benefits that attract and retain talent.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the planning, implementation and evaluation of employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices.
  • Supports the Talent Acquisition team in establishing a recruiting, testing and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.
  • Supports hiring manager in employee technical training and orientation programs.
  • Manages a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning and supporting the implementation of pay structure revisions.
  • Ensures planning, monitoring and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors.
  • Implements employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; and designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.
  • Preparing, updating and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
  • Manages maintenance of the company 401k program.
  • Assesses the internal makeup of the company, as we scale rapidly, to ensure we continue to address and focus on diversity and inclusion practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of HR management experience in a HR Generalist or HR Manager role—preferably in technology startups.
  • Human resources management, hiring compliance, benefits administration, compensation & wage structure and employment laws.
  • Supporter of diversity and inclusion practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Undergraduate degree in human resources, organizational behavior/development or equivalent area of study; MS in a people discipline a plus.
  • Able to operate on Mac and Apple systems; proficient in G-Suite and Slack; familiar with or early adopter of web and mobile applications to organize, plan and manage work (such as Asana, Notion, etc.).
