People Operations Manager

Role Overview
InStride’s People and Talent (HR) team is passionate about our business, partners, culture, and, most importantly, our InStriders. InStride is rapidly growing and we are looking for a People Operations Manager.
The People Operations Manager will play a meaningful role both strategically and operationally to build outstanding practices and programs that reinforce our culture and enhance our InStrider experience. The People Operations Manager is responsible for HR operations and supporting a people-first HR experience, including policy development and implementation, performance management & training, safety program, payroll management, immigration, reporting and employment law compliance.
We are looking for someone that is results-oriented, optimistic, tenacious and most importantly has a sense of humor! This position will report to the HR Business Partner.
Key Responsibilities
- InStrider First: Build strong internal relationships, serve as a trusted partner to guide InStride HR practices and processes from good to great!
- Policies & Programs: Maintaining and recommending company policies and programs. Policies include but not limited to our Handbook, Leave of Absences, Immigration, EEO reporting and internal related content changes. You are excited by being ahead of the news and following relevant employment and labor law changes to keep us compliant.
- Safety: You will be the Co-Captain of our Safety program to build upon our office and worksite experience. This includes our emergency notification system, OSHA guidance and reporting that support our IIPP and as required by law.
- Immigration: End to end management and ownership of active, pending or new immigration cases.
- HRIS: Assisting and improving the administration, reporting and upkeep of our HRIS (Sequoia PEO).
- Payroll: Partners with Finance and Accounting to run and audit employee changes, audit timecards and conduct time tracking (NE) training to successfully submit payroll twice a month.
- Performance Development: Support our overall development routines and strategy. Recommend and partner with HRBP on training and development solutions to improve our Step Forward program.
- Recruitment: Partner with our Recruiting team to build inclusive job descriptions and provide classification guidance. Provide additional recruiting process support on an ad hoc basis.
- Compensation & Benefits Strategy: Work with VP of Talent and HRBP to support and maintain our compensation and benefits strategy. This will include general tracking and reporting plus compensation survey engagement, management and recommendations.
- Complete any ad hoc data requests and all other duties as required.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and a deep ability to understand what motivates others.
- 5+ years of Human Resources / People Operations experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated passion for compliance. PHR or SPHR is a plus.
- 2+ years of payroll management and processing experience.
- Track record of developing and managing internal HR programs, policies, and processes for scale in a high-growth company.
- PEO and HRIS administration experience required. Sequoia One preferred.
- Vendor management experience required.
- Highly resourceful and organized, with outstanding follow-through and attention to detail
- Goes without saying, but you must demonstrate the professional maturity to retain and secure sensitive information with objectivity, discretion, and tact.
