Payroll & Benefits Manager

Our company is looking for a an experienced Payroll & Benefits Manager that can independently manage ForwardLine’s payroll and benefits functions in an efficient and compliance manner while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality. This position will oversee payroll, all employee benefit plans, HRIS reporting, and other related human resources functions in alignment with ForwardLine’s vision and culture.
Responsibilities:
Payroll
- Manage all payroll operations related to employee compensation, bonuses, commissions, equity transactions, benefits, etc.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable payroll labor laws
- Support external financial audit and miscellaneous reporting requirements
- Oversees reconciliation of all payroll activities for quarterly and annual tax filings and period financial closes. Ensure accurate and timely delivery of annual W2s.
- Oversees the processing of all data related to new hires, terminations, and changes in HR & payroll data systems.
- Calculate off-cycle payments (terminations, retro pay, etc.)
- Assists Finance team in preparing monthly, quarterly and year-end reports for local, state and federal agencies.
Benefits
- Oversee the administration of employee benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, leaves of absence, flexible spending accounts, and 401(K) plan.
- Maintain the payroll database ensuring that system records are accurately maintained and audited.
- Help maintain all employees files
- Administer the process and requests for payment of all benefit-related invoices (medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, group life insurance, AD&D insurance, critical illness, EAP services, COBRA administration, FSA administration, FMLA administration, and others) on a monthly basis and in a timely manner.
- Partner with the Director of People & Culture to implement the annual benefits open enrollment cycle, including self-service, vendor interface files, testing, employee communications and presentations, and implementation of changes.
- Prepares and communicate information to employees and former employees about benefits programs, procedures, changes, and government-mandated disclosures.
- Oversee COBRA administration of third-party vendor.
- Manage employee leaves of absence processes (FMLA, medical, extended, compassionate) and maintains records for all employees on leaves of absence.
Skills/qualification:
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in payroll and benefits management
- Proven general knowledge of Human Resources functions along with Federal and State wage & hour and employment laws.
- In depth experience with Fair Labor Standards Act, ERISA, COBRA, ACA, EEO and other relevant federal regulations.
- Experience with report writing
- Experience using ADP
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
